Are you taking any meds, including bc?
Hi everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this. The best way for me to tell you about my problem is to start from the beginning. I am 24yrs old have been having periods since I was 13yrs old. I became sexually active at 16yrs old....I am not on any form of birth control at all. I am a lil overweight and stay stressed a lot from work and life. It has been something I been going through stress wise since 2003...ok that is the main gyst of that part..
Here is where my real problem comes in at. When I was 13 up till I turned 15 I had a regular period every month on the dot of the 18th of the month. Then when I turned 15 and starting that year my period started to run a tad bit later..Instead of having one every month I would have one every couple of months. By the time I was 17yrs Old I was lucky to have a period 5 times a year. It has just gotten worse since. My last period was back in June the last one before that was almost a year to year and half before that. I still have the normal cramps, bloating, soar breasts, and mood swings, but no bleeding at all. Well the past two months now I have gotten to where I have small spotting for about 2-3 days and then it is over.
I am scared to death to go to a doctor. Personally I do not like going to doctors unless I absolutly have to(aka on my death bed), but I am worried about this. Has anyone else had anything like this at all or could tell me anything about what this might be? One of the other problems that I have right now is that I don't have insurance to pay for all the expenses of going to major doctors to get some help.
Thanks again for reading this and hope someone can help.

No, I have never been one to have to take meds and have never been placed on birth control. Most of the time I am lucky to have to see a doctor once a year. I have always been healthy for the most part except the occasional bout with stept throat....that is all I ever get.
The only thing that I wonder about is when I was a baby I was badly abused by my mother and wonder if that has messed up my body more than we thought to begin with.
Not to scare you but I would get this checked ASAP. Its normal to be a little irregular but it seems like you rarely have periods and that is not normal. You could have cystic fibrosis, cervical cancer, or any number of problems or it may be nothing at all. As scary as doctors are sometimes, its better to be safe than sorry. Most towns have health clinics that work on a sliding scale based on your income, or go to the hospital. They legally cant refuse to see you based on lack of insurance. Having a cycle that irregular will probably cause problems when/if you do decide to conceive so I'd get it checked out for sure! Hope this helps. GL!
