Conflict with Sister in law...
To make a very long story short... sister in law and I have been friends since we were kids. After her brother and I got together my relationship with her went totally down hill.... lots of stupid stuff has been said and done over the last decade to ruin our chance at any type of friendship I think. Now I find myself just really wanting a natural relationship with her but she continues to hold these grudges.
She will be at Thanksgiving dinner and I hate the nervous feeling I get in my stomach when I have to be around his family. His mom doesn't like me either so its a very fake situation. Any advice? Sending them heartfelt email that I just want peace wont work, I've been down that road with them a million times and they either point the finger at me or ignore the email all together. Anyway give me some words of wisdom ladies!

Do you have an old photo of the two of you together smiling 10 or so years ago?
If so, get it framed, write on the back, memories are made of times likes theses and should never forgotten, nor let anything get in the way of true friendships. Love your friend.

Thats actually really cute idea and I will think about it. I really don't want a BFF friendship with her... truth of the matter is we really dont have much in common anymore... thats pretty much how i feel around my mother, you know the carp is going to start its just a matter of where and when, the only thing i can suggest is relaxation exercises. you cant change her, just you can alter your reaction, maybe by being calmer and more secure in yourself, good luck.
