In America, there's a difference between thong underwear and G-string underwear. Namely, the little bitty triangle of fabric that connects the around-the-waist string to the underneath string. If it's there, it's a thong, but if it's just the strings connecting to each other, it's a G-string.

I personally only wear them because I don't want underwear lines, but I actually would rather lacy booty shorts, and my guy has told me the "boy shorts" are better too!

I love wearing my g-strings and have been for the last 10-12 years now. I am tall with a thin build, but I def. have some junk in the trunk - the kind that attract the "butt men" all the time, LOL! Anyway, I don't like panty lines and in all these years I have never had trouble with yeast infections or anything of the sort. G-strings are more comfortable to me because I won't have half a peice of underwear riding up my butt at any given time and honestly, it's like you don't even feel the peice of string that's there (kind of like a tampon). Besides, after all these years, my husband still loves them and thinks they are the sexiest.

I don't wear them much either because they irritate me, now if they are just on for a bit to get something started than it's okay. Through out the day I like to be comfortable so gotta wear something that is. Besides it's always nice to a hide a little so not to just be giving it all away.

Saw a segment on a women's health show a few years ago about the dangers of thongs. The string acts as a wick and moves fecal bateria fron the anal area to the vaginal area resulting in all sorts of unlovely problems. Personally I never saw the attraction of having a string between my cheeks.

Well it depends on what type of thongs you wear and how often you change them that causes yeast infections.. never sleep with one on... also stick to cotton...

Sorry Fiber type has nothing to do with it. The problem is that the string acts as a wick, we aren't talking yeast infections but bacterial, they can be serious! This is like going from anal to vaginal sex without washing.
