Well that sound pretty bad. I had mine pierced and took it out many years ago. I would take it out for good. Once something gets swollen (and infected, sounds like) there is really nothing you can do yourself to help it. I am no expert, so I would ask a doctor if they could give you anything.
Sorry you are going through this.
Good luck!

The ball might be scar tissue..
Maybe you should go back to where you had it pierced and ask them to look at it, they might tell you it happens to some people and go away by itself or they might tell you to see a doctor.
It's a bit weird that it's happening so long after you had it done, was it completely healed and then it started bleeding? Mine took ages to heal and didn't look too good on and off for over a year but now it's fine.

My belly ring is blue around it as well and it is scar tissue because like a DA I pierced mine myself one time! I also want to ask about the bleeding did it bleed from you messing with it or do you think something else?

Hi there, I have had many peircings (half inch ears, surface piercings, tongue web) and sometimes little growths appear. It should not be bluish, and it probably is infected. If you clean it with alcohol it dries out the skin and irritates it. I would use sea salt and water (NOT TABLE SALT) and mix it with warm water so that the salt dissolved. Then dip a cotton ball in the water and let it sit on your piercing for 10-15 minutes about two times a day. Do not fiddle with your piercing and wash your hands thoroughly before and after cleaning it with the sea salt. You touch a lot of things in the run of a day and the bacteria you get on your hands can get into your piercing if you don't wash your hands really good before you touch it. Hope that this helps and that you get to keep your piercing!

It is usually best to clean piercings with Sea Salt and water. The alcohol can irritate it and dry it out. Try rinsing it with water, and check with your piercer for additional help. I wouldn't want you to have a serious infection, if it gets worse, go see a doctor.

PS- my piercing bled too in the first year.

Are you taking it out frequently? That irritates my septum piercing and sometimes it gets infected.
The sea salt is good, but you should probably consult the piercer or your doctor if it worsens.
