Hi im not quiet at the stage you guys are at, its now nine days, which doesnt seem that long after reading yours. I just have one question for you, were any of you on the pill at the time of starting this period? or was it prescribed to you as a result of your prolonged period? I am on the pill, and started my period 10 days before the 21 day course was due to finish (it finishes tomorrow).

well i had my period for exactly 2 months! i had two blood tests and ultra sound and everything was normal! I have no clue what caused this this 2 month long period! but its over and i hope it doesnt happen again!...the doctor had put me on provera for 2 weeks, i took it for 4 days then i was fedup with it, so i discontinued using it!...anyhow it stopped exactly when it hit 2 months!

so awkward! but seriously you dont know how great it feels to not have my period anymore because it drove me insane!

Hi everyone i've been on my period for 18days now and it's still going heavy. this is the second time it happened to me the first time i went to the doctors and she said my lining was thick and everything was fine. She put me on birth control pills for 2 months and it went back to normal. But now it's back.

OMG I am so glad I found this place!! In September I had a 30 day long period. Quite frankly, I think it had a lot to do with a HORRIBLE work situation I was in that left me constantly stressed, upset, and in a bad mood in general. In September I found a new job, and had to tell my old terrible boss I was leaving and face her wrath. To make a long story short, I ended up having my period from the day I found out I got the job to two days after I left my old job and started my new one. I made an appointment with a new doctor as I went to Planned Parenthood for care for the longest time (yes, I'm a little embarassed to admit it at 27)! Well, I had an annual, blood tests that came back perfectly fine, and went for an ultrasound two Mondays ago. The doctor put me on the pill which I started a few weeks ago. The tech at the ultrasound said my uterine lining looked thick, but she didn't see anything to panic about, but she was sure the doctor would talk about the lining thing. I've been calling the doctor and haven't heard anything and now I'm panicking.

Of course, this is combined with the fact that, of course, now I have had my period for about 3 weeks now and it's once again pretty heavy! I find that I start to think about my ultrasound results and I feel a little panicked, and it seems to make my period worse!! TRYING NOT TO GROSS YOU OUT---It's been pretty bright red and full of clots.

Unhappy OMG, I am glad I am not the only one

    Hello Ladies,

I thought I was in pretty bad shape. I have been bleeding since Sept 18th. I recently relocated to VA and I have not found a job yet, so that means no health insurance. Well I have had this problem in the past, which lead me to have surgery (DNC). No one could not tell me the problem, but they stated it can be stress related and also I had put on a couple of pounds and the doctor advise me that I should lose weight. That is easier said then done. We since I have started this new job my insurance just started as well so I am able to see a doctor now. I just hope they do not have to do another surgery.

Default can't relate but I really feel your pain

If it was me and the doctors wasn't doing all they can to help find out what was wrong then I would just go to the hospital to find out and let them run some test. It would be a matter of time before you do become amnemic sorry spelling is not my friend). To bleed that long and you haven't been hospitalized is they crazy. Continue to do research on the internet and continue to search for a doctor that is willing to find out what is wrong with you.
    God is love, Always

I'm just wondering.. Did any of you have a biopsy done?? I know that If a woman is in her 40's and bleeding heavily for a long amount of time protocol is Biopsy. Just curious ... If they would do the same with younger women.

Hope everything works out for you ladies

I am so glad to find that I am not alone in this boat on the bleeding forever river. This is my second time dealing with this, first time it was for 17 days this time around I am hitting 22 days. Been to the doc a few times and all test results came out just fine, I can't do the hormones or birthcontrol due to the fact that it makes me crazy and I want to run around killing people, lol. But today was the first day that it looks like the ending of a period (keeping my fingers crossed) all other days where just like a normal period with some major clotting in between normal clotting. I do know one thing that will help you ladies out, which is make sure you take iron supplements. They have worked wonders for me, I feel less worn out now that I have been taking them and I have even got some of my color back. I was ghostly white for a few days there.
