Default Fibroids connected to hormone imbalance?

I've been diagnosed with fribroids and I asked the doctor if the fibroids could be causing other problems (hormone problems) such as swollen itchy breasts, digestion difficulty, heartburn, emotional outbursts, memory loss, teeth softening, lack of sleep or too much sleep, skin breakouts, cronic yeast infections ,all over muscle pain(sounds like I'm prego but I'm not). The doctor says no that fibroids don't increase hormone out- put(other websites tell a different story). It was my understanding that fibroids work on estrogen (and/or other hormones) so why couldn't this be causing other problems?

Your symptoms sound alot like thyroid to me. You need to have your TSH checked. Good Luck

    Default Fibroid mania

Well I've been asking more questions and looking up stuff and Melly may have a piont here...go to the source of the hormones.(Thyroid) A friend of mine found out she has a thyroid problem and seems to have a lot of the same issues as me. On to another issue though.....With the long heavy periods I've had I use tampons/pads a lot.I am constantly having yeast infections because of this. I also think the fibroids are tilting my uterus. They are toward the back on the same side. I dunno maybe that's a crazy therory. This whole thing is making me depressed and a little nuts. About the Thyroid thing again...if blood tests don't show any irregularities someone told me a sonogram on the Thyroid might show something. Any ideas?

    Default OMG! It's all true!

Thanks to mel I have done the research and found out my family is major Hypothyroid and has thyroid *cancer*. My mother just had her thyroid removed (because I pushed her to demand that her doctors give her a sonogram on the thyroid).Thank you so much mel! I would have given up at the blood test if you hadn't got me thinking.
