Put essure as the product and Conceptus as the manufacturer. Just put in the date you had them put in and the result of your HSG if you had one. Don't worry about all the places. I think they give you 3 places to type in your own words. Just use the first section and say that you had essures placed in ??? and had HSG on ??? and now you are pregnant. There is place where you put your personal info in and they can contact you if they need to. You also need to request that your doctor that you are currently using to also make a report. The doctors don't seem to want to make the reports that is why I am advising that you go ahead and make one yourself.

jessy, I am sorry for your pain. I would see about having my tubes tied and see if they can remove the other coil while doing the tubal. I feel pretty stupid myself. That is why I am trying to warn as many women as possible. When you really think about the procedure and all the potential things that can go wrong, it is not worth it.

Please report your problem to the FDA. Go to maude FDA, click on report adverse event and fill in Essure as the product, Conceptus as the manufactuer. Put date you had devices implanted, date device came out and there are about 3 places where you can type in your own words what happened. Don't name doctors or anything. Just use the first area and tell what happened. If you need more room, use the 2nd place they let you type to finish your story. The form is not real user friendly and some one told me from the FDA to type what happened to me in those areas.

I am really disapointed with the ob/gyns refusal to admit problems with this procedure. You should change doctors and find one that will help you. It is unlikely that the doctor you are using now will admit problems with procedure if she is suggesting that you endure another procedure just to see if they can place another coil.

Get copies of all your medical records if you can. You might need them later if you have further complications from procedure and need to seek legal help.

Ok..I just found this forum and i think it's great.After reading everyone's horror stories i thought i'd post my own since i know now that i am not alone. I got the Essure procedure done 09/05. I was 28 at the time with one child. The procedure went great, I didn't feel any discomfort except the nausea from the anesthesia. I was able to resume normal activities the following day. 3 months later i went in for my HSG and was told the coils were in place and tubes were completely blocked.Fast forward to a year later i started have excruciating pain on my left side down near where my ovaries are. I assumed it was my complex cyst that i had. I went to my obgyn complaining about this pain, and they did nothing. I have had ongoing left side pain since after a year of having this procedure done. I've taken numerous trips to the emergency from the pain on my left side. In 2008 i went once again to the emergency room with left side pain, the only thing they did was prescribe pain pills and told me to call my obgyn.Which i did the following day. He ordered an ultrasound because again i'm thinking this is the cyst that's causing soo much pain. The place i went and had the ultrasound done said the doctor should get the result in 48 hrs. 48 hrs later i call and no results. 1 week later no results,2 weeks nothing,3 weeks nothing. I kept getting the run around about it.Finally after a month later i got my results and the nurse told me everything came back ok. Well 3 months later i had to go back to the obgyn and just happended to see on the computer screen a link that had my ultrasound results. I asked for a copy,and to my surprise everything was not ok.It reported that my coil on my right side is missing and the left side has migrated in my endometrial canal.Further evaluation with pelvic pain film or HSG should be performd to evaluate the integrity of the essure device. Needless to say i was too through with that obgyn. I finally got with my regular doctor who referred me for another ultrasound.My doctor said i need to make an appt. with an OBGYN because the coil has migrated and that could be causing the pain. What kills me with the old obgyn is that they just lied to me.I'm requesting all my records from them and possibly a lawsuit.
I wanted this procedure because it was inexpensive,less recovery time and just more convenient. I wish i would of just opted for the regular TL. I would not recommend anyone to have this procedure performed.

jem1crew, I guess they didn't want to tell you about the coils because they figured you'd be mad. Get all your records. Make sure to ask for nurses notes, phone records, consults, operative reports, anesthesia reports, doctors orders and doctors notes. Please report your problem to the FDA. This procedure is awful. What women aren't being told about this procedure is criminal in my mind.

Ladies if you have had the essure procedure and start experiencing pain, do not trust the doctor that put them in if they blow you off. Change doctors, keep changing doctors until you find some one who will help you. I don't know why the doctors won't admit problems with this procedure. I am sorry for your pain. Let us know how your are.

Hello Sisters, I am 40 and just had my third abortion and even though each time I had the abortion before week 5 (so really it's easy and more fair to the small being I hope) I am really tired of it. I never wanted children and I certainly don't now. I don't want to do hormonal birth control, I rely on counting out my safe days and condoms otherwise. Both not being great, neither all that safe, obviously :-( So I seriously started looking into permanent birth control and Essure was recommended to me by Planned Parenthood (who is awesome and I normally totally trust.) I was just about to schedule my appointment since so far I only had studied what the Essure company/doctors say. Thank God for the internet! Thanks to all of you, I'll spare myself such a risky procedure. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, who knows how badly mine could have turned out. I am very grateful to you all. Andra

Sounds as if you are very fertile Andra, I hope you find a method seeing as you don't like birth control, coil, or something .. I would hate to continue going down the path you have had to go down, emotionally let alone anything else.

I know, me too. While I have no religious or otherwise huge ethical problem with abortions prior to week 5 (as all mine were) it really is very upsetting, somewhat painful and just feels wrong. After reading about Essure (and deciding against it) I might now check into having my tubes tied. It seems there aren't that many problems with that.

WOW! I'm not the only one...finally I found other women who are going through what I'm going through...I'm not crazy after all!
I had the Essure procedure done August of 2005 and I have had right lower abdomen pain since. I always feel like my uterus is in a vice and finally I started going to the doctor in 2006 to find out what was going on. Well, nothing they said...here's some antidepressants (I'm a military wife) and quit being so dramatic.
Well it never did go away. And it was bad enough that when I had the surgery...they didn't get the left coil in place and so I went back 3 weeks later to try again...no success!
So finally I went to the ER and they did a CT scan...the coil wasn't in my right tube either...it was in my uterus, stuck to the side. Now these coils are roughly 4 cm long and your uterus is about the size of your fist...measure that and tell me that wouldn't cause some pain.
So now I have to have a hysterectomy but the new doctor I'm going to is such a jerk about it...he still doesn't seem to think that tiny coil could cause all that pain. I asked him if I could put a coil in one of his testicles and see how that feels...he didn't seem too happy about that...wonder why? LOL
So I am printing all of your posts and taking them to him this week. I want to see his face when he reads that I am not the only woman going through because of this procedure. If anyone has any legal help on this issue...please pass it along to me at my email address: jilibeen72yahoo.com
