Pulled a muscle while waking from the anesthesia!!! Thats the first time I have heard that one. Are you still hurting? Did you have the follow up HSG test done? How long have you had the feeling that you might be pregnant? I know that is a lot of questions but it would help those of us who have problems or those that have had sucessful results to better answer your questions.

Please let us know how things are. Even though I firmly believe that this is not a good procedure. I feel that all women whether they have had problems or sucess should post about their experiences to help other women know all the risks versus benefits of this procedure.

In August of '08 I had the essure procedure done. At the time I thought that was the most simple procedure to get sterile. However since then, I have had my period at least every week to every other week. Sometimes it is regular period and sometimes it is just heavy enough for a panty liner. I have been calling the doctor's office and they said that they have never heard of this. I have also developed 3 cysts in my right ovary. They insist that these cysts have nothing to do with this procedure. I think they do. I have never had problems with my periods or cysts until this procedure. I also thought that I pulled a muscle in my lower back at the gym and several tests (mri's, xrays) later show there is nothing wrong with my back. After reading this forum, I wonder if essure has something to do with it. I am going to go to another doctor to find out the problem. I don't really trust my doctor because he left so much out about the procedure. For example, they gave me this pill and told me to take it the night before my procedure. I did as instructed and the pill made me bleed. I was so scared that I would not be able to get the procedure done but when I got in the office in the morning, the nurse told me that was normal. It would have been nice for someone to tell me this. I am very frustrated and worried after reading this forum. I want these out of my body and will be contacting my insurance in the morning to see if I can get them covered to take out. I don't want a hysterectomy as I am only 31 years old!!! Help!!!

Hello, I just found this site today. I had my procedure on May 11 2009. The day I had it done I had the cramping that they said I would so I thought all was on track. Well, I started bleeding the 3rd day after the procedure and here I am 3 weeks later......still bleeding! They told me that I would have a period after but this is like no period I have ever had. I have also had very sharp pains in my right side. Enough to make me sweat. Yeah, they told me to switch between Tylenol & Motrin....that is a joke since neither one works. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!! I go this Wednesday for my follow-up so I hope they figure out what is wrong. If not, they will not like me very much after I am done.

Hi I am new to the forum and I was reading some of the problems the women here had with essure. I had mine done 2 weeks ago and I still have a constant wave of cramping and have has constant bleeding since the procedure. Is this normal 2 weeks after surgery, especially the cramping?
OTC pain relievers like Advil and Motrin are not helping either.

Is this something that is going to be a constant? because if so I am going to ask if they can be taken out, if Dr can do that.

threasa28, There are many others who have experienced what you are experiencing. I hope that you took the time to read all the posts so that you know that they can be removed without doing a hysterectomy and also that you know that most doctors are not real quick to admit problems with this procedure. You shouldn't have to be taking anything for pain. You shouldn't be having pain at this point. I had the same argument with the doctors about percocet. They insisted that I wasn't taking the percocet correctly, that I needed to take it more often. I told them I couldn't work or drive taking it and I didn't want percocet, I was hurting bad and something was wrong, I didn't feel that I should have to take percocet 3 weeks after procedure every 4-6 hours in order not to hurt. I had mine removed by a different doctor.

Kym4 Thank you so much for responding to my post. I appreciate your input. I have read many of the posts on here and I have found them to be very informative. As I said, tomorrow is my follow-up so lets cross our fingers and hope that the Doc will make things right.

I hope you have better luck with your doctor than i did with mine. Basically she had the nurse call me and tell me she would not fix the problem, which is the left one never made in it the tube, and that i needed to get a tubal, which I didn't do in the first place because of no insurance and the cost. So now I am stuck with $3000 in the tolit, am still not sterile, and a potential health problem with one of the coils sitting in my uterus. I wish I would have found this forum ahead of time to save me the pain and cost of something that did not work.

I also wish I had researched before having procedure. I also am out about $7000.00 from the original procedure, the procedure to have them removed, emergency room visits and additional tests that had to performed so the doctors would even acknowledge that the essure metal coils were the problem. I also just got notified that after almost a year my insurance company has deemed that the procedure was medically unnecessary. They have revoked the $9300.00 that they paid the doctor. I have not gotten anything from the hospital yet. I figure that they deemed the procedure unnecessary due to my age. After doing some research on fertility, it seems that a woman my age only had about a 1% chance of getting pregnant with out any form of birthcontrol. Ladies who are mid 40, research those fertility rates to make sure that you even need the procedure. My doctor convinced me that I had a greater chance of getting pregnant and that it would be life threatening if I did become pregnant. If he had told me what the percentages were, I would never have done the essure. It seems he just needed some one to practice on.

I do not recommend this procedure to anyone. If you are considering this procedure then do lots of research. There is another forum, Aphrodites that has many posts with problems. I have since done a lot of research and feel that my research is from reliable sources and if you are considering procedure and want to look at some of the info I have found just let me know and I will try to get those sites to you.

Well all, I went to my appointment today.......I go friday to get the coils taken out. Found out that they are in my uterus. Thank goodness the pain will finally come to an end. They are also going to do a DNC to stop this hellacious bleeding problem. They said that it was due to the Depo shot. In all the times I have ever had the shot, I have never bled like this but O well, it will all be over soon. Wish me luck!!!
