I am not a candidate for birth control pills and am at high risk for blood clots, so that's out of the question. I don't have time to recover from a big surgery, so Essure seemed like the best option. We are at high risk for a child with a genetic abnormality, so getting pregnant again would not be a good idea. So here are my strait forward questions...Is there pain/any change in intercourse after this procedure? Change in menstrual cycle? Any major changes in your body that would effect me physically or emotionally? I know that's a silly question, but who knows, right? How will I know for sure it's "safe" to have sex without getting pregnant? And really, is the pregnancy rate as low as the brochure says it is? Thanks for your input.
