I didn't even get a card with lot numbers or anything on it, all I got was the little pamphlet telling me about it and the hospital release papers after the "surgery" was performed. How would I go about finding out about the lot numbers that were used on me?

I had the Essure done for the first time in September 07, aftering having my daughter. I was pregnant by December, that same year. I was told by my Doctor that the coil in my right tube had come out. They didn't know how or where it went. They specualted that it could have happened while using the restroom. At first they thought that I must have become pregnant before the tissue healed. Then when I had the HSG done again...we all came to the conclusion that I got pregnant very soon after being told I was "in the clear". I gave birth to a very healthy and beautiful baby boy. There were no complications, not related to the procedure anyway. I was scared too, but everything turned out okay. Now my youngest is 15 months and I fear that the coils have come out again. I'm 2 weeks late and terrified that I am pregnant again! I will find out today. I'll keep you posted!

The same thing did happen to me. I had the procedure done for the first time in September 07', after having my daughter. I was pregnant by December, the same year. I had been told too, that the HSG had worked and that the coils were in place. The only thing I was told was that the coil in my right tube had come out. No one knew where it had come. They suspect that I got pregnant literally, the night after I had the HSG done. They told me I was "in the clear". So, I had by baby that August, with no complications related to the Essure or the coils. Now that my youngest in 15 months, I think that I may be pregnant yet again. I'm 2 weeks late and have been having sharp pain "down there". All I can think is that it's the coils, coming out. I know what you went through, believe me...the last thing I needed was another mouth to fee. I'm so glad things worked out the way they did, now...looking back. But I was so scared when I found out I was pregnant. All I could think was that it would effect the baby, thank God...it did not.

I was given a card. I just have no idea where it's at. So I just make sure to tell people, in the event that I have to have an M.R.I or anything like that. It helps that I see the same Doc that did my precedure, both times.

Also the brochure has nothing but great things to say. I don't really want to hear the really bad and rare horror stories, but I do want to know what I'm in for. I am not a candidate for birth control pills and am at high risk for blood clots, so that's out of the question. I don't have time to recover from a big surgery, so Essure seemed like the best option. We are at high risk for a child with a genetic abnormality, so getting pregnant again would not be a good idea. So here are my strait forward questions...Is there pain/any change in intercourse after this procedure? Change in menstrual cycle? Any major changes in your body that would effect me physically or emotionally? I know that's a silly question, but who knows, right? How will I know for sure it's "safe" to have sex without getting pregnant? And really, is the pregnancy rate as low as the brochure says it is? Thanks for your input.
I had essure July 1, 2009. Now I have to have a hysterectomy because the essure wire came out of my tube and embedded itself into the outer lining of my uterus. I have had chronic pain and bleeding ever since the procedure. I will tell every person who asks about Essure NOT TO DO IT. It is not worth the pain and missery if the procedure goes bad. Just get an old fashion tube tying. I am scheduled to have my second surgery due to this procedure gone bad on December 9, 2009.

I had my coils removed without a hysterectomy. The tube was removed on the right because they could not see the coil or get it out, and they just removed the coil on the left. I was initially told that it would take a hysterectomy, but after the research that I did, I refused to accept this as an answer. My doctor initially told me that he did not think my problems were due to the coils, but he quickly changed his mind and agreed to remove them. When he could not see/find the coil on the right, he tried cutting open the tube in hopes of saving it, but there was too much bleeding so he removed the tube. My symptoms were gone pretty much right away. My doctor also called Conceptus and they told him that there was no way that my problems were due to the coils. I never got any type of card, and all of my objective tests were normal prior to surgery. I did find some research that indicates you can have a certain type of preforation which will show up as normal on tests. I did not have a perforation though. My doctor said that he did not see anything unusual when he did surgery. So, he thinks my body just did not like the coils. My surgery was filmed and pictures were taken. There were two doctors in there, and they plan to talk about it at a seminar. I hope it helps educate others on the problems. I had back pain, abdominal/pelvic pain, and very bad constant headaches prior to removal.

You can get your medical records. You don't have to have a court order. Just go to where they did the procedure and request any and all of your medical records. Some places charge for the records unless you are going to use them for further medical care such as changing doctors. Just call them and tell them you need all of your records. You will need to sign a release to get them. The reason I say get them all is because I wasn't given any cards either but when I got all of my records it was in the notes. If they give you an abstract it will not have all the info, just an abstract of what they did.
Let me know if you have problems with obtaining this info and I'll try to help

Essure has a facebook page where you can post your experience. Check it out. Already some negative posts but I bet they will delete them.

The facebook page for essure has now been changed to the unofficial essure site. I wonder why they did that

    Red face Thank You!

I have been thinking of Essure as an alternative to hormones and other bc procedures I can not use, but reading this information tells me I was right to be a bit sceptical when finding this "miracle"way of sterilization.
The info on their official website, and the way they presented it made me really unsure about it. Seemed pretty on the surface, so now I really am happy to have found this forum!

Of course, as it is with everything one thing suits one but not the other, and from your stories I can quite easily see that I would be in the latter group.

As I have alot of medical issues, asthma, fibromyalgia, and now also diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome I or II, JHM, which includes exessive scarring though bad healing(and I suffer alot of pain simply from scars on the skin) lord knows what this insertion would have done to my already scarred uterus and abdomen(Had a cesarian w.birth of daughter)!

I had to register to thank you for this(but I think I'll find a lot more interesting and important things here ) , and I hope your voices can be heard all the way to Europe about the problems of this product!

It is a bit different over here, but , it should be mandatory everywhere to report any complication of a new treatment or things like these!
I am furthermore so shocked that the ignorance is so large, and medicines and different kinds if treatments are still not tested with the thought that men and women react quite differently to them (mostly because of that the hormone systems work so differently), so they mostly test these on men.

But I think it is simply cruel that these kinds of reactions that Essure seems to have been giving are not reported and warned of.
So I thank you all SO much for sharing your stories, pain and hope giving strength and information to others! I wish you the best, and hope that you will heal soon, both physically and mentally. The biggest scars that takes the longest to heal is when the trust is broken in this way. When those who should care do not, and those who should listen do not believe you.
I have been trough things in the health care over here that gives similar "soul-scarring", and I know I ain't even CLOSE to healing inside yet...
All respect to you sisters out there voicing up and trying your best!
    Peace!
