I hear your pain I have it so bad myself.

I also hear your pain about insurance paying for it or not.

I am lucky to be on Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross and Blue shield but I don't have a great selection of doctors now.

I don't know where you live but I have a Lawyer here in the Greater Kansas City, MO area that is willing to work with me through the mail for a class action suit against Conceptrus Essure company. You might be able to get some financial assistance or pay back if you call them and get in on it.

    Army Mom,
First I hope all is well with you. Second please report your pregnancy to the FDA. You can key in maude fda and go to adverse events, it will ask you if you want to report an adverse event. Unfortunately the doctors are not real good about reporting which is just fine with the company. The pregnancies that have been reported have been dismissed as not a problem with the product but problems with women not having HSG test done or the doctor didn't properly interpret the HSG test results.

Reporting your problem will also help other doctors as to whether they think the procedure is safe. I don't think all doctors are bad or dishonest but if they don't have all the facts about the potential problems it might look like a good procedure to them.

    Default Essure Pregnancy

I had the essure procedure 2 years ago today. Imagine my surprise on September 1st when I found out I was pregnant with my 5th child. I am now 4 months pregnant and due June 1st. Dr still doesn't know if I will be able to deliver naturally or with a C-section. All other deliveries were natural and fast. If I had known now what I know now I would have stuck with my original plan to have a hysterectemy. I have been pregnant 9 times and body really didn't need to go through another pregnancy. Luckily, everything is going well and I am healthy and have had no problems. I guess I am wondering if any one else has gotten pregnant on Essure?

Yes, There are other ladies reporting pregnancies. The doctors are not reporting this to the FDA nor is the company that makes the devices. Please report your pregnancy to the FDA. This procedure has major problems. Key in maude FDA. There should be a place that says report adverse events. Make your report. Just put in what you know. Put in Essure as the product and Conceptus as the manufacturer. Just tell them when you had essure placed, if you had the HSG and that you are pregnant.

This is really crucial because this is not a good procedure and those who have had problems need to make sure that the FDA is aware. I don't know if the doctors are afraid to report or what. If I were a doctor, I might be fooled by this procedure because the company makes it sound so good.

I wish you all the best and hope everything works out for you. Please keep us updated.
There are some people pursuing the possibility of class action.

    Smile New here!

Hi! I was scheduled to have the Essure procedure done today, but after reading some of the messages here yesterday morning I called and cancelled and I am so relieved I did. Seems like there are more problems than positive results from this procedure. I have a cousin who is considering having the procedure and I'm going to direct her to this website and hopefully she will cancel too. I'll say a prayer for everyone who is having problems that they are resolved for you. Thank goodness for websites like this to get the real info about medical procedures.

Johnnysmom, I wish I had looked up essure before having it done. It has really altered my life. Since having procedure and having to have them removed, I have done lots of research. Check out by keying in medical device corruption FDA. The Scientists and physicians with the FDA have written a letter to the Obama transition team about being coerced and intimidated into approving unsafe medical devices. Read the associated press article. It does not name devices but sure does make you wonder.

Essure metal coils are medical devices and in doing my research, I'm firmly believe that the so called benefits of the procedure are grossly misrepresented. I'm still trying to figure out what the so-called benefits are other than the company makes money and the doctors make more money. What is so beneficial about having procedure that once they start they may not be able to place the metal coils. What is so great about a procedure that you have to use an alternate form of birth control for at least 3 months. What is so great about a procedure that you have to have a sometimes very painful procedure to determine if the coils stayed in place and the tubes occluded. If the coils are out of place, you have to have major surgery to remove them. If the tubes haven't occluded you have to wait 3 more months meanwhile using an alternate form of birth control and then return for another possibly painful test to see if they worked. If your tubes never show occlusion then you have to use another form of birth control. There are risks with all procedures but I just cannot see how this one is of any benefit.

I forgot about the MRI's, the potential for migration to other organs. Just not worth the risk.

Red face Essure coil falling out

I had the essure procedure done November 5 and yesterday had to get one of the coils removed from my uterus. I don't understand how you didn't notice or feel the coil come out. I sure did, I was getting such a bad pain on my left side. Docs said my tubes must of contracted and the coil feel out. So obviously the baby was from the healthy tube. How long after you had the essure did you get pregnant? My doc told me to come back in six weeks to redo the procedure, I am not going back i now wish the other one falls out naturally like the one on my lef side. This is to painful. The worst mistake I ever made.

    Default Reading is so good!

I feel so stupid, I went on this site before I had the procedure done and when I went in for my consultation, the lady doc was like stop reading bad things because you will never do it. She was like the chances of something going wrong are so slim. Well I went in blind. I had nothing but problems and regret. The pain is unbearable, especially when the left coil came out. I thought I was dying. They say its not pain no stitches. I would have opted for all that instead of this pain. Now my uterus and one tube is so swollen from having the one coil on my left side removed yesterday.
