    Default Mascara

Everytime I put mascara on, I get clumps. Any suggestions on how to avoid clumps? What kind of mascara is better for this?

    Thank You,

    Bernice

I am a mascara junkie. I have heard so many make up artists on tv say that mabelline greatlash is the best on the market. My eyelashes have a mind of their own and I need something a little thicker. I use mabelline illegal lengths. A great way to avoid clumping is to stretch your eye lid with your finger from the outer corner of your eye making your eye almost shut. Then wiggle the wand back and forth from root to tip. Always brush a little towards the outer corner of your eye. It helps them look open and give that doe eye appearance. Don't forget the little lashes too. Good luck!

If you have small eyes the outward stroke is important. Also don't wear a ton of eyeliner. It makes them look smaller. Try smudging the eyeliner. NO LINER ON BOTTOM LID!! My roommate has small eyes and we discovered they cave in with black makeup. She uses browns and purples now.

Try cleaning the mascara wand once a week, sometimes your lashes clump because there is too much mascara on the wand and brushing it against the tube to get it get off can damage the bristles.

Sometimes the mascara is too old ... even Maybelline new from the bottle can be old and clumpy.
Don't buy mascara on sale; it's usually old. Smell it; newer mascara has a very light scent that's usually a little like coffee, but old mascara is really strong.
Brushing the wand against the tube can also MAKE it clump ... just think, it's stuck at the top of the tube, and the wand has to travel through all that mess to get out, and it will pick it up!
I am not a fan of Maybelline mascara myself, though I've used it. The regular Great Lash stuff just doesn't do it for me. I use Revlon's mascara, but I've also used some of the cheaper ones, and I think they're often just as good. I think it is JANE that has the double-ended two-color/two-step mascaras? The most common color I've found is red, sometimes there's gold too ... that was the best mascara I've ever used and it was a cheap brand. I wish I knew exactly what it was.

I really like Covergirls Fabulash mascara, it doesn't clump nearly as bad as other mascaras. Also you can lightly swipe your wand on a tissue before applying mascara to eyelashes, this helps get some of the extra "glops" off the wand. Hope this helps!
