heavy bleeding

my period just came on yesterday and it not the same its very heavy When i went to use the bathroom the water turned red and that hasnt happen since i started takin birthcontrol Now im Not on it and i been off for a while now i dont know what to think

As long as your not soaking thru a pad or tampon in one hour i wouldn't necessarily worry about it, If your really concerned just call your Doc. an ask them what it could be might be the only way to know for sure, I wouldnt be to concerned as long as your not soaking thru pads an tampons in one hour.
