I suffer from time to time with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, that was caused by "trauma" of a major fall... Fortunately, i have learn't to control it by eating a small meals constantly throughout the day and avoid certain food groups.
I also seem to pretty much every second, or third year at least, during winter, suffer the lovely "gastric flu bug" and i double up in pain, sweat, feel nausea, feel like vomiting but don't for some reason, most of the times but the pain is escrutation and i recall that this started in my 20's.
So the accident in 1999, assisting in creating the IBS, seems to have nothing to do with it, i just have a weak stomach.
I know that trauma does play an effect on acute gastritis, and something pertaining to the stomach lining, eroding so if your pregnancy was a difficult one, a bit traumatic then it's possible.
All i can offer as advice is what i experience from time to time, and how i combat it. Apart from medical advice of course.
I don't drink milk unless it's lactose free, ensure i eat heeps of green vegetables and salads and minimum meat 200grams maximum and avoid of course the chillis and Indian foods. I eat eggs, love them but sometimes they play havoc.
Being a little bit more at peace even if things seem stressful, seems to help a lot to, i try very hard to avoid feeling stressed, touch wood, it's more rarer than it used to be so maybe that helps with what we put inside our body that it likes verses what it is rejecting.
Hope that helps a little....
