decreased sex drive on Jolessa (Seasonique)
I've been on Jolessa (the generic for Seasonique) for about 8 months now. I love the pill and only getting my period every 3 months. But recently I've noticed that my sex drive has decreased drastically to the point that it's causing problems in my relationship. Has anyone else had any problems with this? I'm beginning to considering going off BC for a while since I'm not so sure I want to switch to something else. Any ideas or suggestions would be wonderful...or just complain with me
)
Thanks!!!

In my experience anytime you suppress ovulation you can loose your libido. I am a member of a few boards and I see a lot of women complaining about it more so with the pills like Seasonale.
Your best bet is to talk to your dr, this may not be the best pill for you.

With my experience, taking a birth control pill really lowered my sex drive tremendously. I really hated the fact these pills did that. I tried everything to get it back too. Exercising, dieting and switching pills was my main attack but nothing worked.
I thought I was pretty much screwed.
Like I said, I tried it all and thank goodness I kept trying things. I stumbled upon these herbals enhancers that were meant for my situation. I gave in and luckily I did because these things work wonders and made my sex life wayyy better. My libido has never been flaring like it's been and not to mention the orgasms are 4x's stronger.
While I'm still on the bc, my libido is still at a constant level just like it should be. The enhancers I found here and saved money on them at the time, ................ It was really helpful.
Well good luck and I hope this helps you.

Finding the right birth control is like finding the right man...
I struggled with the first two verions of the pill I tried - Loestren and Desogen. Loestren gave me severe nausea and Desogen lowered my libido dramatically. My OB/GYN finally had me try Lessina, and that's been great. The side affects have been mild and I've been able to loose weight also.
For any woman frustrated with pill-related libido issues, I would suggest to keep trying. There are so many kinds of progestin and hormone combinations that each pill type can be completely different. One rule of thumb, though, is that 28-day packs with placebos to allow for a menstrual cycle have the fewest side-affects.
I experienced a lot of break-though bleeding between packs; I took iron-supplements to keep my energy up during that time.

I've noticed my sex drive decreased significantly with Jolessa, and it also is affecting my husband's and my relationship. It's so frustrating! I spoke with my doctor about it, and he seemed surprised that ANY birth control pill would affect libido. Hmm... makes me wonder about what he knows. I feel for ya, sistah!

Shylady221,
Can you please let us know which herbal enhancer(s) you are using? My wife has tried Provestra and it has caused her to start her period twice, taking as directed. I would really appreciate any information, as my wife is being so kind to try enhancers.

I would like to know the name of the enhancers that you have used. I am on the merina for two months now and I am not sure it my situation is related to it but my libido has decreased to the point that I dont even feel to be close to my husband.

Seasonique is definitely affecting my libido
Its so weird. I love sex and all of the sudden its just not there?!? Sometimes I'm dreading it. It has to be this BC. I was so excited though when I thought about no periods for 3 months, thats amazing.
Why don't doctors let you know about all the possibilities when you try it. Then you wouldn't go through this terrible process of thinking you have a serious problem.
I'd love to know the name of the herb that counteracts this libido killing BC?
