How did you meet your partner?


I met my husband at a pool hall. He was making eye contact but was too shy to talk to me, so I offered him a ciggie (after he put his last ciggie out!). He said I was beautiful and we hung out until evening. He walked me home

He started calling me Fiona, I asked why since my name is Audrey, he said because I'm just like Fiona (from the movie Shrek) because I'm beautiful during the day, but ugly at night. I said that he must be Shrek then... because he is always ugly.

And now we are married with a baby girl!

I still call him Shrek and he still calls me Fiona!

I met my partner online. I wasn't looking for anything or anyone. I was playing a game where you can get into groups with other people to kill the badies. He was talking to someone in our group and I did a LOL. I thought the other person he was talking to was his wife the way they were bantering back and forth. When he said whatever it was he said and I laughed his attention was drawn to me because I got the joke. It was sarcastic. She didnt get what he was saying so I explained it to her. He started to talk privately to me and I asked him if his wife would be ok with us talking. He thought it was funny that I assumed it was his wife and cool that I would respect her enough to check and make sure it was ok with her that we were talking. Turned out he wasnt married and it went from there.

I went through a long separation and divorce and I had my "list of standards" that I wasn't going to stray from! I had a talk with God and told Him that I really could be happy single but if He was going to put someone in my life then I wanted to be wowed! I had gone on some dates but the other guys didn't meet my standards. One day, one of my work's vendor's inside salesman came into our office to bring lunch. He was so cute! I loved his eyes and I thought "wow" (and this was months after my prayer)! He mentioned that he worked for one of our project manager's in the past so after he left, I got some information on him and started to email him. I wasn't very good at the flirting, lol...but FINALLY he got it (he thought I was married because of a ring I was wearing--wrong hand though) and we went to the circus on our first date and a year and a half later we were married!

Ok, so my name is Angelikah and my partner is Ian. I am 20yrs and he is 19. I know we are still so very young.

We first met in 8th grade just casually through a friend, we never really talked much after that first meeting, I just knew who he was and same for him. A year or so goes by and we end up at the same high school together, I met him again because a girlfriend of mine at the time was complaining that this guy liked her. When she told me who it was I was shocked she was being so negative, I knew when I met him for the 1st time in 8th grade that he was one of those REALLY nice guys who was raised right. You know, to treat her with respect, and to be kind. So come to find out she just didn't like him. On and off through out our 9 and 10th grade years of high school I would randomly talk to him, but nothing real serious. Through out this time I myself had dated 2 guys with in the time frame of 2yrs....So I am in this relationship in my Junior year with this guy I thought I loved(you always think ur in love when ur younge,lol.) When in the beginning of my junior year we ended up with a class together (Ian and I) and from then on we were never really apart, ate lunch together most everyday, he walked me to my next class, we talked a lot and about everything. He was the only one to even remember my birthday that year and hand made me a card(I still have) I was pretty sure he liked me, I was liking him more and more. The only problem was my then current relationship...So, for the time I shoved my feelings away and continued on with my life...and just stayed Besties with him. At the end of my junior year I found out I was moving, I was crushed I wanted to finish my senior year there, with him. But I left. The week I left, him and I met at our local park and spent a whole afternoon there just talking and hanging, he was the only not even my BF made that effort....Shortly after my senior year began my then current BF and I broke up after a year and 6months. I was So happy...I broke it off. SO, Ian and I started talking more and more, he even came and visited me a few times in my new house...It really seemed like things were going great, we would spend FOREVER on the phone together and even admitting how much we liked each other, but it never went anywhere, he never asked me out, or on a date or anything....No subtle hand holding, our hugs were about as far as it ever went and they were never just a normal hug, you could tell there was more there. So, felt like I was waiting and waiting but that it just wasn't going to happen...So I moved on about the end of my senior year I started talking to a co-worker of mine. I don't know why I just thought he was nice...We began kind of seeing each other so I started just kind of weining my feelings from Ian, I just felt like if we liked each other as much as we said we did then why wasn't anything happening. I didn't tell him until after graduation that I was dating, and believe me I felt horrible...we kind of didn't talk a lot but we still kept in touch after that..But I knew I hurt him. The relationship I had just started got really serious, oh and during this whole time frame I was in process of joining the US NAvy. Almost a year goes by and I leave for boot camp...when I graduated boot camp a lot had changed...boot camp did a LOT to help me realize what was important in life...My 12 year old brother at the time tried to kill himself with a shot gun(found out the day I graduated) the BF was VERY unsupportive while I was in boot...I heard from him once through out the whole 2months. I wrote him EVERY week sometimes sending 4 letters. So, I relaized things just don't work out, so at about 11 months together I broke up with him. This whole time I had been still friends with Ian but nothing more then that we talked maybe twice in that whole time frame of 4 months. In the military I was finishing up my tech-training and they were granting me the chance to go home for 2weeks, I called Ian so see if he wanted to meet and hang out, come to find out his friends were throwing a birthday bash that weekend and he would like me to be there. I was SO excited to see him, the feelings I had hidden I let come out. So I show up at his party and there was a lot of whispering amongst our friends of how they wanted ian to be happy and wish he had a GF, that night I found out he had never had a GF or ANYTHING, I was shocked, him and I never talked about htat stuff I just sort of assumed he had...The night goes on and he did little things like put his arm around me and our amazing hugs he introduced me to all of his friends which they knew me but there were a few new faces... Night goes on and we all decide to stay there and him and I end up in a room togetherjust laying there talking and out of knowhere he kisses me!!!! I couldn't even explain the rush of excitement and just how right it felt. we did that for awhile and just fell asleep. The next morning we were going to the beach, we all went to breakfast and hung out and spent the day together. nothing was weird or anything but we were kind of acting like we were just friends again...So, the end of that day comes and I go home and so does he at midnight we were on the phone and he asked me if I would be his girlfriend! From then on we have been together, we have a long distance relationship I am stationed in MS and he is in FL but I come home as often as I can. We trust eachother 100%, I can't even explain how real it is for us. Things that we see others go through never even touch us. I know he is the man I will marry, I have never been able to say that...We have been together 9months this 19th.
