Not sure if you have ever worn make up or how specific you want me to be but I can give it a go and hope some helps.

I used to work for a make up company a few years back, selling and doing make up.

Start with a good facial moisturiser, doesnt have to be expensive. After applying this find a foundation that suits your skin colour and skin type. some are more glossy and some more matt. If you have oily skin matt is best. Apply all over your skin but not on too heavy and make sure you leave no lines around your throat. A slightly damp make up sponge can help with this. If you have any blemishes or darkness under your eyes apply a concealer before you foundation in these areas but make sure you blend it in.

choose a blush that suits you, maybe a natural earthy tone to start with to give a natural look. apply it with a bigger brush, not those little ones that come with the pack, so that it spreads well. Apply under your cheek bone in an upward motion. There are lots of tricks you can do with blusher. for example if you want your face to look thinner also apply a little at the sides of your forehead above your eye brow near you temple.

If you want to use eye shadow don't start too fancy just get 2 colours that complement each other and blend well. Like a mocha colour and creamy colour. Apply the darker colour in the crease of your eye socket and blend up a little then add the lighter colour high towards your eye brow and a little down near your eye lashes. The trick is to blend the colours so the lines where they meet are not aparent but smudge together.

You can add some grey eye liner, not liquid pencil, just under but very close to your lower lower eye lashes. Then use a black mascara and apply to upper and lower lashes from your eye away to the tips of the lashes.

add some lip stick, don't fuss with lip liners. And your done.

This is quite a natural look I have describes but the principles are the some. Have some fun experimenting. Make up can show different moods and personalities.

Just go for it and enjoy practicing.

    Good luck.

I love Mac. I've been wearing make-up for 19 years. The woman in Macy's by me, basically said I know what I'm doing. (LOL) I use eyeliner prep, masscara and lip. It helps the make-up stay on better.

Please look at the left hand side of posts before replying to a thread.

This was in 2008 and the Threader hasn't returned.

    Good advice though.
