    Default Censoring too rigerous..?

I don't want to seem like a trouble maker, but I'm sure most people here would agree that there are a few words censored that really shouldn't be...

    1diot
    stup1d
    d4mn
d1ck (lots of posts in the sex forum get broken because of this, and without an edit...)

and I'm sure there are some others which break peoples posts when they think that they are typing politely... At least when we got the ****s you'd know where a word was missing so the grammar would still make sense, but now it's got a bit difficult.

By the way, I'm not complaining, or trying to be rude, just a suggestion...

I actually think it may have gotten a little better. I saw some posts with , , and in them and they weren't censored yesterday. I'm not sure if we've always been able to say those, though. But if we have, it's pretty weird we can say those and not stup1d, lmao.

Watch, it's going to censor MY saying those words, lmao.

I played an MMORPG once where lesbian was censored and the ever so dirty C word wasn't, haha.

But yeah, there are a few other examples on this forum that I can't remember at the moment, that are equally stup1d as these... Like I say, when they're starred out it's fine really, since you can figure out what they're trying to say - this whole removing the word entirely business makes a lot of stuff simply not make sense...

Those words are censored to help keep the amount of cussing down. The list of censored words is very long so the ones that were not censored... I had just missed those ones. But no worries, they are censored now. Not to be a smart , but really, a lot of people find those words highly offensive and if there was free reign to use them, people would. I personally don't care who uses those words, but it's not about what I want. So please don't take that personal. It's for the well being of the forums.

A common English greeting is being censored because of its inclusion of the four letters that spell out another name for the underworld.

Just fixed that problem. You can now say "hello".

I appreciate the need for something like this (even if potentially very offensive material that could be upsetting for children is on the boards..), but would there be any chance of bringing back the stars (***), so when the sentance probably accidentally contains a "cuss" word it doesn't stop making sense? Especially since we still can't edit out these mistakes...

I have to agree with Anon. I'd prefer the ****s over a complete omission myself. I'm kind of slow at times and an omitted word sometimes throws me.

Hahahaha. I see they caught on to the words they'd missed and deleted them from my post. Oh GOD. This is getting a little silly.
