Smile Help me find a hobby

I am 25 years old and my husband plays golf a couple nights a week. I need a hobby to keep me occupied while he is away. I have tried scrapbooking and I like it, but I'm not really interested in it right now. I have tried to learn how to crochet but I don't want to do something that I will have to learn and practice before I can actually make something. I am thinking of doing something along the lines of making a dollhouse- but I dont want to make a dollhouse. Any ideas? I don't do sports, and I don't have many friends since we have moved. Any advice would help!

    Thanks.

None of them really stimulate the brain... They are in my books "past times" and once completed, what, start a new one?

What about photography. Get a camera and start taking shots in sequences, capturing same things, at different times of the day and piece them together in an albumn...

Or getting a pet, that you can walk and play with and have some fun with and company..

    OR both....
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve

Learn a musical instrument. The guitar is pretty easy (probably the easiest) so you could always teach yourself that.

Or do something which involves exercise, play a sport or bounce around on a trampoline, take up climbing or archery or something. Not only will exercise make you look better, it'll release lots of endorphins, and everyone loves endorphins.

You could take up sky diving.

    You could play computer games.

You could go to self defence classes.

You could get a small amount of money and play the stock markets.

Just think of something you like doing and take it from there...

I live in a small town (under 3,000) so there arent a lot of classes around. I like computer games a lot but when I get done, I feel like I have just wasted a lot of time.

I took photography in college and loved it, but I have been putting photography off until I get a better camera. I think I will try to get more involved in photography and also maybe try origami. I like projects that have a somewhat immediate output.

Thanks for your help and if you have any other ideas I would love to hear them.

One hobby you could try that is challenging to the mind is sailing, given of coure that there are any lakes or oceans where you live. It is a generally inexpensive to rent sailboats at lakes and most sailing lessons are given free by sail clubs. It is pretty rewarding once you get the hang of it and its not even really a sport unless you plan on racing sailboats. hey, and if there is no wind you can always get an awesome tan!

i like to play games like dominoes or card games. I play on a site called gamecolony.com. This site also hosts pool, chess, and backgammon just to name a few. My fav room is the domino room. Come play some time and don't let the guys intimidate you. They love a challenge. Use referral name okcplayer if you decide to join.

well Fishing is always fun if you have a lake near by. but what about puzzles when you finish it you can glue it on to a cardboard and hang them on the wall. they can look very nice when they are done : ) but i would do the fishing myself

Well, I'm a hypnotist so that's kind of my hobby. But my big thing is socializing. Whenever I get the chance to go out and be around people, I do my best to meet as many people as possible. And since you said you don't have that many friends since you moved, it's time to build up your social circle again.

    Makes sense. Right?

I like to take classes at the local college, either by myself or with a familiy member or a friend. Im not sure what its like in your area, but we have a lot here. There are one day classes where you can make a wreath for your door or learn to cook a duck or play poker! There are also multi day classes like belly dancing, yoga, photography and they are inexpensive. I know the single day craft classes are only about $35 here in PA.
Some of those skills from the classes, you can take home with you and start making wreaths, centerpieces, etc on your own. BONUS: Those classes would get you out to meet your new neighbors and make friends
If you enjoy cooking, it would be fun to learn (or even experiment and teach yourself) to make chocolates and candy. I like to make those personal, homemade items around the various holidays.

    Good Luck!
