Does anyone have an idea how I can find out how much brisk walking or pilates or both together I need to do in a weeks time in order to burn 2500 calories a week? Any input would greately help! Thanks

Try using google and search things like 'calories burned calculator' or 'calories burned activity'. Stuff like that, there are quite a few site out there that you can enter the amount of time you do a certain exercise and it will calculate approximate calories burned.

They have several tools on the internet that will estimate very closely. Try and find one that asks for your weight/height.

I use this website called calorie count. It tells me how many calories I need to eat and burn each day. I just input what I have eaten and what exercise I have done and it calculates it for me. The url is caloriecount.about.com. It could tell you how many calories each burns in an hour and then you could go from there to figure up your 2500 calories. HTH!

One thing I have found is that those sites read out pretty high as far as how many calories you should be eating. If I ate as many calories as it said to, I'd gain a ton of weight, no matter how healthy I ate. Experiment and see how your body reacts to the amounts of calories and exercise and find what works with what your goals are.

Yeah I have had that problem too with other sites, but caloriecount lets you customize your calorie intake and calorie burn to fit your lifestyle.

I recently came across a blog regarding the show The Biggest Loser and how they lose the weight so fast...among several other factors, one was that they wear Calorie Counters. I haven't really researched it, but maybe if you looked for something like that it would give you the estimated time/amounts your looking for. Thank you rmadams for info on the calorie count site, I'll also check that out myself...does it also ask at what intensity you were doing the exercise?
