I have suffered panic attacks in the past so I really feel for you they are harrid and you can think you are dying.

I have used St John's Warts, Which is a natural herb at it really helped.

Do some research about it on the web though as it can interfer with other meds like the contracepive pill or anti depressants or other anti anxiety meds.

I also found sitting in the bottom of the shower with the water running over me helped and relaxation breathing exercises.

    Good Luck.

Dear Desertrat702: I think I can help. I'm a long time anxiety and panic sufferer too. I used to be on antidepressants but they made me too sick to continue. Since then I've been on a neverending quest for a natural cure. I've now realized there is no 'cure' out there but there are things you can take that can help you live with anxiety comfortably. Like you, I started looking at herbs for anxiety. Kava kava is supposed to be one of the best but I couldn't try that because it has been linked to liver problems and I'm also a hepatitus survivor. I did try Valerian but it only made me tired without solving my anxiety. What has worked for me in the past is an herb called L-Theanine and another one called 5-HTP. They both work very well for my anxiety. I actually found a product that has both of those ingredients and other herbs that calm anxiety. It is called Panicyl. I still take it now and highly recommend it. It works great. ANd let me add that I'm not connected to that company so thats an honest opinion. I've also heard of another herbal forumla called Rescue Remedy but I've never tried that one before. ANyone else try that?

I suggest exercise and relaxation techniques such as yoga. Try to reduce stress in your life and have good people around you that make you laugh and encourage you. Get in touch with your spirtuality.(higher power)

1 cup of chamomille tea (celestrial seasonings) will help you relax.

Magnesium 250mg. Not to exceed 500 mg in a day depending on weight.
    Is a natural nerve relaxer.

Do not do either in the same day. Do one or the other.

There's alot of pushers of yoga on these sites lol
I have tried valerian, didn't work....currently taking Nervoheel, just started taking 5-HTP, same idea as Zoloft and all other SSTI's also, tissue salt Kali Phos.
I'm currently suffering from extreme anxiety and terror brought on my menopause...it has not been an easy time. My Dr wants me to take Zoloft, but I'm very reluctant.
Good luck....I hope you find something that works...naturally!

    Default i have researched this..

I have researched and I have tried a bunch of herbal supplements and I have found that Relora is great for anxiety. Kava Kava is also great but it is very powerful and lasts forever. You couldn't it and say go to work. Good for the weekends though. I bought the real kava kava root powder from the pacific islands that the tribal people use which is the real thing. The stuff you get in capsule form is not the real thing. It is terribly diluted and processed and you don't get the real effect. But Relora is great and 5htp is great for depression.

Personally i don't like the taste of medicine or herbs. If you prefer something more natural, i would recommend linden method. It kinda of like an instructions through tapes or videos that tells you what to do and what not to do.
