Hello!
I just found out 2 days ago that I am prego-it's only by the home test, but I've heard they do not lie about that! I called my doctor and they dont even want to see me unitl 8 weeks nor did they say anything about me getting prenatial vitemens. I thought that was odd that I had to ask them about it. I think I am going to find a new doctor. But the reason i am writing on here is bc i just want to know if its normal to have some brown in my discharge. I am not sure if it's really discharge bc my fiance and i just had sex 3 days ago. I never had implentation bleeding- so i could see why there would be some dried up blood. Is it normal? I know if there is acutal bleeding thats bad- but its just brown and i do not have any cramping-just some jitters from all the shock of finding out that i am prego.
We are 22 and have our wedding planned for july 11 2009- this was not a planned preg. but we are happy.
Congrats to you and your fiance! Im 14 weeks, and what I was about 4-5 weeks, I also had a teeny bit of brown discharge when i wiped. No bleeding, but old blood. Which is perfectly normal. It could be the old blood from implantation bleeding, or sometimes women tend to spot around the time of there usual period when they are pregnant! Either way, you are fine! As for your doctor, it is sort of weird that they didnt want to do a check up right away, unless that is as soon as they can fit you in. I know coming from a small town, that it takes forever to get into my doctor. Im sure on your first prenatal the doctor will tell you about vitamin, and folic acid and all of that other good stuff. But if you arent comfortable with your doctor, I would encourage you to find one that you are comfortable with.
Congrats!
It is normal to have some brown discharge. If it comes with cramping then you should be worried. It is weird that they wont see you...maybe they want to wait until the pregnancy is old enough to see.
I went in for a pregnancy consultation one day and they wanted to take a urine test...turns out i was pregnant and as soon as the doc found out he did an ultrasound but couldnt see anything being that i was only 4 weeks pregnant. Just relax , in the meantime pick up some over the counter prenatal vitamins, they are just as good. Goodluck and keep us updated!
Congrats!!
I would possibly consider getting over the counter prenatal vitamins. (I use the Walgreens brand.) My husband and I are trying to conceive and the doc said that it wouldn't hurt to be on them before I got pregnant. If I were you, just to be safe, grab some prenatal vitamins...I don't think it can hurt!!
(By the way, it is normal for them (the doc) to not want to see you until 8 weeks.)
Take care of yourself! Congrats and best wishes!!
Thank you everyone! I am switching doctors- there is one closer to my house- so I will be calling them tonight.
I do not have any cramping- just some jitters from all the excitments and nerves from telling my family ( it came as a shock to all of us, so some of them are taking a little more time to come around) but I feel fine- no morning sickness yet- sore breast yes, but thats about it...last week was my missed period and I a lot of times before my period I would get this brown discharge- but I will take your advice and try not to worry unless I have cramping...
I didnt mention in my last post- but the brown discharge stopped yesterday and it was clear again- but now its brown again. Do you think it's still normal?? Maybe just a morning thing? I was reading some posts on another site about miscarriages and thats how some womens started out- but then progressed to real bleeding with cramps..
UPDATE:: I called the new doctor and they want me to come in tomorrow morning. So hopefully everything is okay...the discharge is still coming except its more like a watery brown-I'm very nervous- but trying to remain calm!
I'm glad to hear that you switched doctors. Please keep us updated (if you would like). This board is a very good support group!!
I hope everything turns out good at the doc!!
Hello everyone,
Thanks for your support and high hopes- but unfortunately I had a miscarriage yesterday about an hour after my visit with the doctor. He was a great doctor though and very supportive. While at his office he told me that he had seen women with my symptoms who delivered healthy babies, but when I called him and told him that I was having heavy bleeding- he told me that he was trying to stay positive for me, but had a feeling that I was going to miscarry. My fiance and I are doing well- since it was not planned- we will not be trying any time soon- we are focusing on our wedding in July and then after the wedding I will start preparing my body to hold a healthy baby and I know this doctor will help us in every way possible. But thanks for the support!
