Default Acne in Weird places

I get acne on my face from time to time but nothing that bad, however i do get it really bad on my shoulders and back and sometimes odd places like my legs and armpits. I get zits in my ears and in my hair. My doctor has tried different topical and oral medications to help it but nothing seems to work longer than a two months before it stops being effective.

any suggestions?

I used to have a similar problem with getting acne on my chest and shoulders. It got especially bad near my period. If you are willing to take birth control I would definitely recommend it to ease the blemishes. About 4 years ago my doctor put me on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and it was a God send! Give it about a month to really notice a difference. I'm not kidding you my skin did a total transformation.

Its good to know that I'm not the only one out there.. My face has acne but i get it alot on my shoulders, back, and chest even on my elbows it weird. I know other people probably notice sometimes and think its weird too.. I personally am a little nervous to go on birth controll I really don't want to. I have been in a really close relationship for awhile now and use condums. Is there any other good advice anyone could give besides the pill??

I'm in the same boat. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I get acne on my shoulders, chest, back and some on my face but not too bad. Thank you for the tips.

Default Keratosis Piliaris

I believe what we are all dealing with is something known as keratosis piliaris. I have had trouble with this every since I was a teenager. After trying multiple products and trips to the doctor to try to clear it up I feel defeated. The last doctor that I went to said that the best ways to "treat" this is:

Clean the area with alcohol
Apply a think layer of petroleum jelly to the affected areas.

I have been doing this for sometime now and I have noticed a difference in the appearance of the "acne". I have some problem areas especially my arms but I have it under control now and am happy because its not so severe.

Good luck and thanks for istening.

Alchohol and petroleum jelly?

I've heard of many different types of solutions. This one is definitely a first. By no means am I mocking you. I just think it is very interesting. Thanks for the tip!

i have alot acne on my back before too that when i was in my teen now i 26 and i wouldnt wear singlet or wear something that it backless, and i find the most useful thing it used fresh lemon cut the lemon into 1/4 and when u go shower take 1/4, wet your body alittle then rub the 1/4 lemon on the part that have ance leave it on for about 2 or 3 mins before you rinse it off with water, do that 2 or 3 time a week and later on u will see the difference. i havent have any ance on my back and shoulder maybe 3 or 4 year now, and in summer i can wear backless top or singlet and backless dress. oh i forgot to tell you the lemon juice might sting alittle the first time after a while u get used it it be fine, i still used it once a while, but not as often like before 2 or 3 times a week. hope this will help you

If products do initially work and after two months stop working, maybe you should try rotating different products? That way you get the effectiveness without your skin getting immune to one certain product?
