    Default Hairs Under Chin??

    Hey everybody,
Just wondering if any of you get little individual hairs under your chin or on your neck? I don't mean hair like a man's goatee or anything...but just like little, tiny single hairs. I've been getting them under my chin for the past 10 years i guess, and I constantly pluck them out thinking if i did they wouldnt grow back...but WRONG! They just keep growing back. Anyway, some of the places that the hairs grow have left dark spots b/c i would pick at it (i guess that's why it's dark). So i'm wondering if anyone knows how to stop these hairs from growing and will the dark spots ever lighten up?
    thanks!

Depends how old you are. Facial hair growth can be caused by hormonal imbalances associated with perimenopause and menopause.

We all have facial hair, but it is fine and basically invisible. Men, on the other hand, have coarser, darker facial hair. The type of facial hair is determined by a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The higher the DHT, the coarser and darker the hair.

A higher estrogen to testosterone ratio keeps the levels of DHT low. However, as our estrogen levels drop in peri-menopause and menopause the DHT levels increase.

    Hi DimeyScienceChick,

You are lucky that its just tiny hairs but then they still are hairs so dont be too comfortable..May i ask, are you willing to try hair waxing? there is a safer way to do hair waxing...I have tried it and it worked for me, thanks to hairwaxingsecrets webpage....check it out, im sure you'll learn a lot and be over and done with the "unwanted" hair
