I have been using Proactiv for about a week now and it has worked wonders for me!

My skin is so clear and softer than I can even describe.I feel so much more confident about my face now.I actually love looking at my face in the mirror and haven't felt the need to wear cover up since about 3 days after I started it! My face broke out 2 days after I started it.that gave me doubts and I was about to stop using it.But after those two days,I woke up and my skin looked so much clearer. Now,I'm blemish and zit free! I have tried:

Clearasil-the face wash made me break out horribly.I used the overnight cream, wich helped for about a year, now it has no affect and never really cleaned my poors and dried my face up

Noxema/Cold Cream-never really did much aside from make my face cold.lol

    Zap Zit-Ugh,didn't do jack.

Clear Zit-Dried my face out something fierce.

    Proactiv-Chuh Ching!!! Lol

I've been using Proactive since Dec 09' and man I gotta say it works. I have discolored spots from darn former pimples so I bought the skin lighting cream too. That helps, but it says that pregnant women need to ask their doctors so right now I'm holding off until I find out if I am...but otherwise it's great. But...I still break out around the time of the month too. I use the 5 piece kit which runs 60 bucks for 3 months. I have very oily skin so I also bought the sulfer mask which helps, but my skin does over dry. It's kinda expensive, but worth it if you wanna get rid of zits. GL!

I used Proactiv for that same reason (the little period breakouts). Haha to be honest, I'm kinda like you--even one makes me freak out. Lol. But Proactiv made me break out sooooooo much worse. It definitely was NOT for me. I now use AcneFree for sensitive skin and it rocks!!! I'd recommend it!! Hopefully, you find something that works for you love!! Good luck!!

I had heard great things about pro active and tried it, it does dry out the acne but if you only have a few hormonal pimples I would not recommend it as the peroxide will dry out your whole face, your pores will start to produce more oil and you may end up with more pimples then when you started. Its pretty heavy duty stuff.

Yes ive heard that from many many people. It depends on if you have naturally oily skin or dry skin.I had little to no acne when i wasnt using proactiv.I was usually only getting them when i was on my period. But i didnt want any so i tried it,and im still using proactiv. Its still doing its job thats for sure

I bought Proactiv about a year and a half ago. While it smells nice and makes your face feel good for a while, it dried out my skin like crazy. It made my jawline flaky and itchy. I will use it once and a while since I still have some left but It wasn't my favorite thing. I know they've changed the forumla and everything but I wouldn't try it again.

I've seen new commercials saying that they've changed the formula. My sister used it, and like previous posters, it worked for a bit and then stopped.

One thing that I might suggest in terms of cover up is mineral based make-up. I've been using it, and to be honest - I posted "PMS Face" - thank you NO ONE for responding (LOL) - I've found that using that kind of "calms" it.... I can't explain why, however, the one that I purchased came with some sort of "pore clearing" serum that seems to have worked as well.

Proactiv seems to work for some skin types and not for others, but it's worth a shot. They have a money back guarantee....
