    Default Adult acne.....seriously?!

    Hello my loves ~<3

    I'm 23 years old.
I've never had any problems with Acne besides a few break outs here and there that ProActive took fine care of.
Well, I moved to Dallas 6 months ago and I've started breaking out severely.
I get these hard knot like zits on my face, below the surface that hurt like the dickens.
I also get the little ones and the white heads and the black heads.
It's all very frustrating and confusing....

I tried a bunch of muck and nothing worked SO

    I went to the dermatologist...
IMMEDIATLY she wanted me to go on Accutane.
Have you heard of how messed up this drug is?!
I mean, power to the people and all that fun stuff for doing it but I would prefer waiting last minute.

So she put me on Orecea which is actually for roceara (?).
Apparently it works wonders for acne sufferers though.
That, some cream and a hormone pill and I'm waiting to see the results in some months.

    (edit)

Tell me your stories as well!
I just want to see if anyone else suffers from what I do and how they are handing it ect ect

Default Your skin is not the problem...

    Hi there,

Your issue definitely sounds familiar. Typically we relate to skin issues as our skin being the problem. However, our skin is not the problem but is actually a very indicator as to what the problem is. 2 questions I want you to consider are 1) Has the level of stress in your life increased since moving to Texas and 2) Have you made any dietary changes since the move?

If the answer is yes to one or both, this is crucial information. Adult acne is most often caused by diet and/or stress leading to hormonal imbalance. If you are getting what are called cysts--these are large and very painful pustules below the surface of the skin--then I would say that the cause is mostly likely an acute aversion to meat and dairy, cooked carbs/sugars, poor food combining and/or STRESS. You'll want to cut out the complicated, processed foods and add many more raw vegetables and fruits (in moderation) to your diet. Also take on stress relieving activities like yoga and meditation. Drink plenty of water. Be sure you are getting enough sleep every night and quality sleep. This involves not going to bed within at least 2 hours of a relatively light meal, going to sleep by 11am and sleeping with an eye mask (Any amount of light can disrupt your circadian rhythm and your pineal gland's production of melatonin and seratonin.)

In addition, purchase some organic, eco-friendly products for extra skin support (the health of the product DOES translate to the healthy effect it will have on your body).

Hope this helps! Any or all of what I have suggested here should make a considerable difference.
