    Default Winter Itchy!

I suffer from excema in the winter . It really stinks!
Boobs, back of knees, arms, legs.. gah! (Worst part is boobies)
Hydrocortizone I use sometimes but try not to, one time I had to put cortico-steroids on my hands.

What do you guys recommend for hyper sensitive skin?
    (Lotions, body washes)
I'd like to keep it as natural as possible.
    I'm looking for a good natural hand-soap.

Right now I seem to have found a lotion I'm not allergic to (Alpens: Secrets, Olive Oil)
and use the Extra Sensitive Dove imitation cheap stuff (Hannaford brand)
Occasionally I'll soak in an oatmeal bath (I don't use Aveeno because of personal issues with the company)

    What do you gals recommend?

If we could live without passion maybe we'd know some kind of peace... but we would be hollow... Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we'd be truly dead.” -Joss Whedon

I have eczema too and it is really annoying in the winter (Yes on my breasts too). I use Caress body wash while in the shower and that doesn't seem to have any sort of a reaction on my skin. While I am in the shower, I gently exfoliate using a pumice stone. As soon as I get out, I use my homemade concoction as my moisturizer. I went and bought a bottle of Pure Coconut Oil (you can get it at a health food store or Indian Grocery store or even online. the Brand I use is Parachute Coconut Oil) and a bottle of Vitamin E oil (CVS/Walgreens). I mixed the two in equal quantities (1/2 bottle of Coconut Oil and 1/2 bottle of Vitamin E oil). It sounds weird but it works wonders.. I have been using it for over 3 years now and I love it! Yes, you will need to wait a little while to get dressed (about 20 mins). I use it every morning and I do not itch at all during the day. Now for a facial moisturizer, I use Nivea in the blue bottle.

I hope this helps you... I had a really bad reaction to hydro-cortizone and that is when I switched to the Coconut/Vitamin E oil mixutre. I seriously am in love with it because I have really soft skin now and I can go a couple of days without using any moisturizer on my body.

I check the organic section of a local grocery store and try whatever sounds interesting. Anything with vitamin E would likely prove helpful and I've used plain shea butter products for everything including chapped lips. Otherwise I buy products from lush. I haven't found any bad lush products just expensive ones. Their lemon cuticle butter is for very dry skin areas and smells great. I've been debating how to make it less thick so I can apply it to areas of skin that aren't dry since it does too good of job moisturizing what isn't in serious need of it but I want to spread the scent around. If you have a store nearby you can try samples of any of their products and get recommendations from their staff.

Does your house have a humidifier?

If not, perhaps you should check the humidity levels in your house. It might be too dry ..... adding some moisture in the air might help a bit.

In the winter when things start getting colder and drier....I can tell because I get all dried up and itchy. Then, I know its time to hook up the humidifier.
