I have struggled off-and-on with acne since I was a teenager. In fact, I think I saw just about every Seattle doctor by the time I graduated. I tried all kinds of prescriptions, antibiotics, face washes, spot treatment... I found that the thing that works best for me is face washes containing benzoyl peroxide. These types of washes are available OTC now. I personally use Neutragena Skin ID. I saw that you say you can't use Neutragena... I don't know if this would be good for you or not. This is different than what is sold in the stores. You go online and answer some questions about your skin and stress levels and then they give you a recommendation for products. It has worked really well for me. The only thing I don't like about it is that it can be a bit pricey (~$60 for a 2 month supply I think) and that they have automatic refill, so every 2 months, your credit card is charged and you are shipped more of the face wash products. I end up not being able to use all of the product in the 2 months, so I cancel, then just reorder when I need it. I definitely think you should check it out, its about the only thing that has kept my acne in check.
