What's a good SPF that's oil-free that aids in the prevention of skin cancer?
What are some signs/symptoms of skin cancer?
I'm going to do some searching on this, but if anyone knows first-hand or knows someone personally that may have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer, please share!

hey, skin cancer runs in my family, my mom had it and i havne't had it but it's a strong possiblity that i may get it in the future. i already had a abnormal mole removed off my back.
basicall if you have a mole or a freckle somewhere on your body. especially if it has not been there before just watch it and if it gets darker throughout the weeks and months get it checked out or if it's asymetrical get it checked out.
and most sunblocks protect against uva/uvb rays. but if you see one that doesn't..don't buy it lol buy one that does
and if you do see something not normal and your doctor agrees he/she will probably do a biopsy and if it comes back normal great! but if not they'll probably remove it at a outpatient center. i had one removed off my back and you do'nt feel anything, you'll just have to get some stitches out...but if you have to get one removed off your face or neck...get a plastic surgeon to do it! you don't want any bad scars or anything when it comes to your face! my moms was on her face and she had a plastic surgeon remove it and there is no scar at all!
Having had a child with melonama, I cannot stress how important it is for people with fair haired children to take heed. My son has had probably ten invasive surgeries to take different parts of him out...Gapping holes on his body that had to fill in......PLEASE let this be a warning....Watch out for a mole that changes and turns reddish..Watch for the variations in size...If it is perfectly round it should be OK, but please watch....It can spread through your body just like that. The sad part about this is that it does not show for years...He was blond and shirtless many of his years and in sports..It did not show until he was 23...Now they watch our other son as anything suspect is being taken off him too. The moles are hereditary and they are the culprits...Now they say that the sun screen does not help but I have a hard time believing this...Yet, I do know that the rays of the Sun are so much stronger than they were when I was young...I saw the first one that they took off and it was on his back..Irregular in shape and many colors..Looked like it was bubbling...It had already started to grow down where the danger level is as it was going into his blood stream...They start by growing out and that is how a round mole loses it's shape and become irregular and the thing to watch out for...Originally Posted by jones10021
