    Thumbs down Stretch Marks- help?

thing goes on like an year ago i was a bit overweight. I took up regular exercising and am finally 3 sizes less than what i was. But.... awful stretch marks around my lower back and around the corners of my waist. I tried good stretch mark removal cremes from l'oreal, but seems not effective. i used them for almost 2 months but no effect. if anyone here knows any other creme to go for and trust completely do suggest me. Also i think loosing weight even when you exercise regularly effects your skin.what do u think?

i have done some research on stretch marks, i dont think cream works, the cream only makes it appear smoother but dont take them out. stretch marks can be remove only by laser or surgery. i also have some on my butt, but thats gonna stay there because i dont wanna do surgery on it.

    Default Coco Butter

    Hi,
I found that Palmers Coco Butter works very well. I have really bad stretch marks from my large breast, then I had a breast reduction and my stretch marks were really visible when I wore a bathing suit. I have been using Palmer Coco Butter for a while now and they are much much less visible. I don't think they will ever go away completely, but unless someone knows they are there, you can't tell.

Don't waste your money on mederma or scar zone; they gave my incisions an infection. Also, those scar tapes don't work very well either.

OH, vitamin E is another good one, in the pure form. They come in tablets and you pop the tablet open and put the gel like substance right on the stretch mark.

    Hope this helps!

Default stretch mark creams and when they work

While I am far from an expert, I always heard that stretch marks need to be dealth with before you get them, which may not be much help now, but it could prevent you from getting them in different places in the future.

I applied nothing on my first pregnancy and got some pretty nasty stretch marks on my hips, but used coco butter every night on my second pregnancy and got no new ones.

I also have those kind of stretch marks wrapping around my waist and on my lower back. They seem to be invading my body little by little. I've done extensive research on them and you can't really get rid of them unless you do a laser type removal.

Creams don't work, but make them less visible. I like to use St. Ives Firming Lotion. Also Nivea works well.

Looks like we are all stuck with them for life =/
