Default root canal aftermath

ok. i haven't been to the dentist in a looong time. today was my first day going and OMG! it was not pleasant. im terrified of needles going in my mouth. the anesthesia wore off so im in pain again. it feels like i just got punched in the jaw. i had a root canal done and it sucked (i know my fault for waiting but i haven't had the necessary funds to go) does anyone have any insight on how long this pain will last? and what i can do to relieve it. i can't take most pain killers because they have caffine. and caffine gives me anxiety..no joke!

An ice pack on your jaw is probably your best bet at this point.

Take an Ibuprofen to reduce swelling and kill the pain, they have no caffeine. Apply an ice pack as suggested, root canal can be tough so hang in there.
