Default Beware dentists giving fillings for money

My two boys have been told that they need fillings on their new adult teeth and I became suspicious. How can such new teeth already need fillings? A second dentist told me their teeth were fine and that the first dentist was making money by giving then unneeded fillings.
I was furious and everyone should watch out for these money greedy dentists.

Wow, that never even occurred to me. Although, I only go to the dentist every 4-5 years, so I always assume that they are being honest. But I have been told that I've needed fillings when my teeth seemed fine and I couldn't see or feel anything wrong.
I'll have to be more aware next time.

couldn't agree more. i've often wondered about dentists and fillings. seems strange to me that a child who brushes his teeth at least twice a day and follows a healthy diet can need fillings

surely our teeth are stronger than that?

Insist on an exray.. That way you will be able to clearly see the "black" spot which is the decay on the tooth.. It will cost you a bit more but then again, if they are lying, it won't cost you a filling and then you can take it further as well with someone higher up and not pay for the exray either...

I have a great dentist, un-fortunately I have a lovely heriditary thing going on lol, but they do exactly that, exray, show me and explain what we need to do next....

As well as give me laughing gas because if you think I am going to have that big needle put into my mouth without some form of sedation FORGET IT. lol.
