I have heard that it destroys the enamel on your teeth...so personally I wouldn't use it.

Teeth whitening is a non-invasive dental-cosmetic procedure. It is generally "safe", considering these negative effects I googled.

'Both hydrogen and carbamide peroxides can have negative side effects. Hydrogen peroxide, even in small doses, can cause irritation or bleeding in the mouth and tongue when taken orally, as well as cause abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. Carbamide peroxide is usually diluted enough in teeth whitening kits to be harmless, but at higher concentrations it is a respiratory irritant that is corrosive and can cause burns. It is very important to check that an at-home teeth whitening kit contains no more than 10 percent carbamide peroxide.'

What to do if one wants to make use of natural sources instead of chemicals, STRAWBERRY. Strawberry has malic acids, so as other fruits that are tart and sour, like apples and grapes. Brush strawberry along your teeth and immediately brush away the pulp and juice to rid of the sugar which may damage your teeth if left on for a long period of time. Through time, if this is repeated everyday, it can strip your teeth off of carrot juice stains, coffee and nicotine stains without the harsh chemicals.

But if you want faster results, revert to professionals - your dentist!

Had it done with a dentist kit along with implant work.

It makes your teeth really sensitive for a while after and is a pain as you need 2-4 hours a night to do it (not food/water)

Dentists do a more intensive UV activated system, more expensive and more sensitive after.

I have had it done about a year ago, not super white just not yellow. No problems think it is quite good but not sure if its worth the money

For as long as it makes you happy and it improves your "packaging" for "business" (of all sorts). It's worth it!

    Love 'packaging' but prefer 'contents'

I agree. But 'packaging' would get the 'contents' more noticeable, wouldn't it?

Teeth Whitening somewhat harms the natural enamel that our teeth have. Whitening 2 or times can lead to tooth problems like internal bleeding from the gums or tongue because it is done by using chemicals like hydrogen peroxide.

I dunno about it harming your enamel. I too have heard that, but from friends, while professionals have told me the opposite...??

As for me, I used those crest whitening strips for a week and my teeth were PEARLY WHITE for about a year and a half. It was faaaaantastic. But then after a full 2 years, I went to use them again, and the very first strip really, really hurt my teeth and the gum area that it touched. So much so that I can't bear to have them on my teeth for even a full minute.

So, I guess I'll never be using them again, but my teeth are fine otherwise... No sensitivity or enamel wear... And using the strips that one time took off a lot of that basic discoloration to the point where I think my teeth will always be a tad whiter than they were before I used them.

Tree peel, known as 'Dandasa'. What so special about this peel?
Nothing, other than it comes from the English walnut bark. The oils that come from chewing this bark do clean your teeth, for a couple of days, then it turns your gums and lips orange because it is has the properties of a chemical dye.

Stick to Crest products, or the dentist if you want to see real results.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
