    Default Sensitivity suddenly

Hi everyone, my problem 1st started 2001, went dentist had xrays everything told had tooth abrasion swap to soft toothbrush and sensodyne paste, pain flared up in 2005 I went different dentist sure I had cavity to be told I had tooth abrasion and was clenching me teeth, both dentist said I had great super healthy strong teeth. This year it started again this time with sinus infections and me doctor said go dentist get splint to wear at night. Again at another new dentist had every single test sure I neeed filling but only thing was this tooth sensitivity from clenching and abrasion. I have the splint and go for 2nd adjustment tomorrow, so far it causes more pain then when I didnt have it so i cant wear it. Yesterday I woke in pain top 2 back teeth by lunchtime it was on opposite side by nighttime all my top teeth felt like being electricuted, I took digesic pain pill i brushed with sensodyne and also put GC tooth mousse gel on.Any ideas on what I can do as I had a sleepless night constantly waking from all me teeth feeling electric shocked. I hope eventually i can wear the splint, I seen on the net VitD has something to do with teeth and mine with iron got dangerously low last year but is normal to low now also im 46 perimenopausal. Please advise.

    Default added note

ended up caling dentist went back today, he now is getting a soft splint made and said my jaws getting realigned which is causing my bite to be different and this is making me have swelling on nerves of teeth which is like electric pain, all thats great explanation but his offer of help was go take an anti inflammitory pain pill and ride it out. If anyone has any sort of natural help I am open to anything that might help

    Default me again

Wow 97 views and not 1 comment or bit of advice? lucky for me I do alot of research and happy to report after 4 days of needing neurofen for the electric pain plus wearing the soft mouth splint the teeth are finally getting settled. So my advice if you clench and grind and probably have sensitive teeth is to get a soft rubbery mouth guard made to your teeth shape not the ones from a chemist also use a sensitive toothpaste NOT a whitening one it will only make things worse, also use a soft or even baby tothbrush, floss before bed and buy GC tooth mousse to smear on morning and night. Also whatever in life is causing you tension either take anxiety meds, do yoga or something to relieve your stress in turn you will stop clenching and your teeth will be happy.

I have had pain like you are describing, but it has always been related to cavities or tooth damage. I can block most pain to a high degree, but tooth pain is something I cannot, so I generalize it into a dull background pain if I can. If I start with a sharp pain at on point, I get the next few teeth feeling some of the same but less, then half of my jaw, then finally the whole jaw. I can sleep over the dull background pain.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

dont take high or low temperature food or liquid for some days and use a good toothpaste specially for sensitive teeth. You can also do gargles of salted lukewarm water. Most importantly maintain a good oral hygeine
