Default Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening Gel removes most stains with a gentle action that whitens your teeth. As the active ingredient in the gel (carbamide peroxide) is broken down and oxygen acts upon the stained organic deposits, which oxidizes them into a white color.

This process makes the overall tooth color closer to its natural unstained color. Your tooth structure remains unchanged. Years of clinical tests have demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of this system. Over 95% of people treated achieve some level of tooth whitening. Crowns, bridges, bondings, and fillings do not lighten with dental bleaching systems.

Tooth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surface. It cannot make a complete colour change; but it will lighten the existing shade.Professional bleaching is the most common form of tooth whitening. Your dentist will be able to tell you if you are suitable for the treatment, and will supervise it if you are. First the dentist will put a rubber shield or a gel on your gums to protect the soft tissue. They will then apply the whitening product to your teeth, using a specially made tray which fits into your mouth like a gum-shield.

I just ordered something to whiten my teeth that a friend recommended. It's a teeth whitening gel, 35% Carbamide Peroxide. I got this from ebay for under $30, which is alot cheaper than if I get the whitening done with a dentist. I'll be sure to let you guys know how that works.

Angry Don't Zoom !!!

I had the Zoom procedure done a week ago and my upper lip still has not healed. The dentist tried to say I had an allergic reaction but the reality is they burned my upper lip. It was swollen to 3 times its normal size. I had to drink through a straw for almost a week. Yes, my teeth are whiter but NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THE RISKS!! My dentist NEVER checkd the set up his technician used. I feel cheated and betrayed because I trusted my dentist. I am looking for a new dentist.

FYI - GoSmile is expensive and not worth it. I only saw a slight difference in about 2-3 weeks time and my teeth are not bad at all, so I was a bit disappointed. I heard the Dr. Collins toothpaste is a good one.

I agree with Renita. I tried Zoom whitening before and to be fair, it works, just that it also casuse blistering on my lips for a week. I mean try Zoom if you need your teeth 5-10 shades whiter fast but just watch out for the blisters.

If you need to whiten 1-2 shades fast for those parties, try Crest. Takes a while but it works.

I get whitening from ebay for £3 odd.

It works if you use them for a week or more, I saw a difference x
