i had my bottom brace on in september last year and top brace on may this year as that didnt need much pre work done to it. i have a really bad underbite so they are bringing my top jaw forward and pushing my bottom jaw back.
i am also having a cleft pallet repair as they didnt do a very good job of it the first time and still have problems with liquids so they said that they will do them both at the same time, im hoping to have surgery sometime next year, around christmas time im guessing...
one thing i was wondering is do they have to take your wisdom teeth out pre op?

i do have a lot more questions to ask but im generally quite excited about the whole thing, think im the only one

I'm the same as you. I was born with a Cleft Lip and Pallet and with an underbite (Is that just a natural thing for people with cleft lips?) And I'm about to go into my senior year (We tried to do it earlier but my ortho screwed it all up) and I had one of those halo things in 4th grade just so when I grew into my jaw it wouldnt be so bad and now they have to move it 12mm and its on Sept 9th. And I was just wondering how yours went? I'm really worried about 2 things: 1-That when I'm wired shut I'll throw up and it will be disgusting, I hate throwing up and being wired shut when that happens doesn't sound appealing. Also 2- Have you had any problems with your jaw locking? It's happened and my ortho said it was dislocated and I'm worried it's going to be worse after the surgery. And do you have any advice of how to keep the weight off? I'd like to loose the weight and keep it off Thanks so much!!!
