    Default Filling fell out

i can't believe my luck. i was eating lunch and one of my fillings fell out. i had only go it put in back in feb of this year. i went to the dentist at the beginning of this year with full intentions of getting the teeth i have left pulled and as always the dentist talked me out of it and said that he could save what i had left, it would just take a while because i only have so much insurance per year. so i got all the work done that i could up to my maximum on my dental insurance with the intention of january going back and getting more work done. so now the fricking problem is i have used all my dental coverage and i will have to pay cash. i am sooo angry. why did i let that dentist talk me out of getting dentures? neither here nor there i guess. you would think dental work would last for more that 7 months. does any one know if dentist guarantee there work to last for so long? tried to call my dentist and of course he is closed on fridays. now i won't be able to call till monday and i leave wednesday to fly to texas to see my son. it doesn't hurt right now and i am hoping it won't start. dang it. dang it. dang it.

I'm not sure about dentist guaranteeing their work, if they did, it would probably be over a shorter period of time. Probably around a few weeks or something.

I'm not sure how good this works, but I've seen it in the store by all the toothpaste and anbesol stuff. There is some type of temporary filling stuff you can use. I would pick some up, just in case it starts hurting before you can get it fixed.

Almost every major Drug Store, Walgreen Walmart , Rite Aid ,have a Temp Filling kit in the Oral Health section. about $6-8 .

Follow Directions, it also has a " Numbzit in it " smells like a Dentist office.

    But is Great Temp fix.
Just go straight to the Pharmacist and ask ,they know exactly where it is

There is zero comparison between dentures and real teeth...zero! "Save what you have" is probably the best advice you have been given as it pertains to your teeth. With so little information about your situation as it pertains to your dental condition, it's very hard to come to any other conclusion.

Every dentist, who is worth their weight, will recommend to 99% of their patients to "save what you have" because they know, and are well educated to back it up, that it is.

Dental insurance in the U.S. covers about $1,000 of work per year per patient. Assuming extremes here, expecting your insurance to cover all of the costs of "saving what you have" is ridiculous. That's like saying your auto insurance should cover the cost of routine maintenence. So ask your dentist to sit down with you and create the "ultimate save what I have plan" to figure out how you can do that together. If he's not willing, find another dentist.

All of us in the U.S. must take a more active role in our health care, the management of our health care and the insurance that helps to cover the costs of our health care.

The days of presenting your insurance card, a co-pay check and assuming everything will be covered or taken care of are long gone.
