I got my wisdom teeth by the time I was 16 I think. Sometimes the gums in the back of my wisdom teeth will swell and when I bite down on food I bite down on my gums as well. It happens about twice a month. Is this normal?

swelling of gum at the wisdom tooth indicates infection.due to infection the gum swells and causes pain.don't neglect it as it may lead to severe pain and some complications.see a dentist soon.

Sounds like a trip to the dentist is in order.
It could be a sign of some tooth or gum illness. To rule out any problems, make that appointment and have your dentist check things out.
