No problem. Take care, I hope you'll feel better soon.

What if they have to give me dentures due to the teeth being so poor in condition?

(I read your other thread.) If you actually have to have them out, dentures can be a nice temporary solution until you can get implants. My father did the same - wore dentures on the front teeth, and to be honest they looked so REAL that no one could tell the difference, not even his family. And then after a couple of years he was able to get implants.

I hope I will be able to chew with dentures on.Most of my back and side teeth are decaying and will need to be removed.

How much do implants cost nowadays, Mes? Are there some after - issues with them?

I believe you can arrange with your doctor about the costs though. I just want to get a range of the cost if ever possible. Does anyone know?

Costly, unfortunately. Very much so. But depending on where you're missing teeth, getting a couple or so might be worth it. In the States, at minimum they're about $1,500 each but are often more, depending on how many docs are needed, how extensive the surgery needs to be in your particular situation, and etc.

(My father saved up for quite a while, but as it was a front tooth, it was very important to him.)

If you come from a low income family, you might get financial help from a local dental society. If you have dental insurance... might as well check to see if they might cover part of the cost, but honestly I doubt they would. (Grrr stupid American insurance companies, jebus.)

I just googled "denture costs" and found that if you want to get the cheap plastic-ie ones that maybe your great-grandma wears, they would cost as low as $300. If you want to get really realistic, durable ones that last a long time and come with a warranty, they can be from $1000 to $5000. I'd say that's money well spent, though, with dentures like that you wouldn't even need implants. And yes you can eat with them just fine.
