most people say do a bunch of situps and crunches, but are there special exercises that can target the lower stomach that gets loose. I hear the military has special techniques.

Even before I had my two kids, my tummy was ALWAYS my problem area. I managed to lose the tummy fat after my 2nd by alot of consistent, increased, aerobic/cardio exercises (my favorites are elliptical and the spin classes) for a minimum of 30 minutes at least 4 times a week. I also did not drink alcohol, which I love. When my youngest turned 1, I started the regimen and went down to 108 lbs from 125.

Five years later, I've had to do it again, as the bulge had returned. I'm down from 125 to 115 in the last month by replacing almost all of my carbs with fresh vegetables, cutting out the booze (again), and getting back into the exercise routine. I've plateaued in the last week, so I'm going to have to increase the exercise to 5X a week, not easy with a 1st and 6th grader. The first week is the toughest, but it gets easier as your stomach shrinks. YOU CAN DO IT if you make a resolution and a commitment to change your lifestyle. If you are hungry in the afternoon (my hungry time) try the Blueberry Slim Life tea from Yogi (it is green tea with an herbal appetite suppressant). Good luck and keep us posted.

BTW I tried a diet pill (Anoretix), and all it gave me was a stomach ache and an extra 25 points in my blood pressure. Don't go that route!

I had 3 c-cections and have had alot of trouble with my abs as well. I wear alot of high heeled boots ( cowboy boots) but if you like heels they will work to. Try wearing diffend sized heels and when you walk stand up strait throw your shoulders back and try to keep your tummy tight. Sounds dumb but I'v been doing it for a few weeks and I see a change already. Of course keep of the other stuff to.
