Default I've finally got the motivation...but I don't know where to start.

I'm eighteen years old. The average weight people guess me at is around 180. What they don't know is that I weigh 280, give or take a pound. I wonder about it at times. I don't look it, and I have no problems with cholesterol, blood pressure, or anything. Perfectly healthy if it wasn't for being way overweight. But despite these facts, and the fact I gain weight slowly, that 300 is getting too close for comfort. I know I'm beautiful, especially since I found a guy who sees the real me and not the 'squishy gal'. He worries about my health and how I feel being...me. It started out as wanting to do something to make him proud of me. But lately I've been looking at losing all this extra weight as a way to make myself feel better. Feel as beautiful as I know I am inside. I know some key things to do. Number one being no more soda. But when it comes to exercising and eating right I'm a little lost. I hear so much about this diet and that. But I'm a college student who lives at home. Most days I only get to eat dinner and depending on how I obtain the food it may or may not be healthy. I run on a limited variety of food when I cook my own meals. I see walking as the obvious way to start exercising, but it feels useless. And I hate to complain, but boring. I've tried music before, and it helps a little but not by much. I suppose when I exercise I want to feel like I'm pushing myself just a bit. I'm just so weak and pathetic, I get tired of it. I appear to be ranting, so I'll get back to my topic. I want advice, tips for good starter exercises, foods to avoid. Maybe when I should eat and how often...? I dunno. I'm open for all advice. Anything to help.

I am determined to get down to a size 8 from a 16/18 and i have already lost 11lbs on my current changes. i started simple. i cut back on carbs and adopted a "whole foods" attitude. mainly lean meat and veggies, and carbs with breakfast if i feel like it. i ride my bike for 2 hours 6 days a week, and i walk a lot and jog. i am fortunate enough to live in a town where i can ride my bike most places, so i have been using my bike as my main transportation method, and im saving money on gas at the same time.
i am about 3 weeks in to my new lifestyle and i feel a lot healthier. i have more energy and i am noticing my clothes getting bigger and my chubby areas getting smaller. thank god.

Don't give up. Make small changes. You are already on track by eliminating soda. If you can, follow a program like Weight Watchers (it really works, I am back on it myself). Next, try exercising a litte bit each day. go to the mall and walk, take a pet or neigbor's pet for a walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park a little farther away from the entrance (God gave you legs that work, use them!) Walk away from your house in one direction for 5 minutes, turn around and walk back - you just walked for 10 minutes. Increase the time a little more each day. Next, learn to cook healthier. If it didnt come in mother natures package - don't eat it! This helps alot! Weight loss and healthy living are HUGE industries, tons of help sites out there. You are not alone and you can do it!
