That's a tough one to answer. For starters, skin elasticity has a lot to do with genetics. Some people are able to lose loads of fat and their previously stretched skin bounces back very well.

Others, even some who don't lose all that much fat, experience problems.

That said, are you doing any forms of resistance training?

Exercises for the triceps won't magically pull stretched skin in tight. Though there are multiple fascias of tissue and they are all intertwined in some form or fashion, human physiology doesn't work like this.

Doing some tricep exercises will either stimulate a growth/strength response for the muscle or it won't. In terms of having an impact on the fat and/or loose skin in that same general area, I wouldn't count on it.

I'm a new member here, but I've done a lot of research on flabby/excess skin and thought I'd go ahead and share what I've found out. I recently lost a lot of weight very quickly (around 55 pounds in about 4 months) and it was too quickly for my skin to keep up and now I have what I thought was flab but what I've been told is just excess skin. I thought my only option was to have surgery and checked out a lot of books at the library and researched online. There are other things you can do to help your skin. The most important thing is to do strength training. Building muscle will help a lot and you'll feel a lot stronger plus having more muscle speeds up your metabolism which helps make weight loss easier. Another thing is to eat healthy, drink lots of water and keep your skin moisturized. Putting lotion on right after getting out of the shower or bath is the best way to moisture your skin. Taking vitamins, cutting down on pop, coffee and alcohol is important too. I read a medical study that also said that taking Evening Primrose has shown results in skin elasticity as well. Also, not smoking and tanning is very important as well. I was using those firming lotions but didn't see any results. I've been living really healthy and I usually exercise 7 days a week and I am seeing results. (I strength train at least 3 days a week as well as cardio). As I've built muscle my arms have gotten more defined and while I still have saggy skin on my arms, they are looking a lot better. According to one of the books I read, they said it can take a year after weight loss for your skin to regain it's elasticity so they recommend waiting until then to make any decisions about cosmetic surgery. I can give you the name of the book and the authors if you are interested in reading it. Hope this helps.
