Default Need dieting support

Hi to all of you dieters out there! I too have started to diet. I am in my 40's, 5'5" and started at 187. I am now at 181 after 2 weeks.

Here's my story: About 3 years ago I lost 30 lbs doing the low carb thing. I always heard to look for your weakness and that's where you cut back. My weakness it most definetely carbs! I also found cutting them out or back made me not crave them as much. I have to say even just losing 30 lbs...I looked great and got alot of compliments. The compliments were nice but I did it for my health. My cholestrol was over 200.
Now 4 years later, I'm back at 187. I went through alot in the past year and a half. I left my somewhat abusive husband, got divorced, and later met a wonderful man. We moved in together and everything fell apart. I mean with my diet and exercise. WE GOT COMFORTABLE! I was eating too much prepared food and not exercising enough. I am so mad at myself for letting this happen again.

I started my diet about 2 weeks ago and my boyfriend has been real supportive. I am loading on the proteins and avoiding carbs. or atleast eating good carbs. I haven't really ramped up the exercise program yet. I wish I had a buddy! But I am getting there. I walk when the weather's bearable. It's been real cold here. I also went out this weekend and bought a pilates exercise package....ball, bands, weights and dvd. I have yet to watch the dvd but hope to get that going too.

I am not going to try any of the pills mentioned on the website. I'm affraid to. I was just taken over by the acai and colonxr people. I lost $130.00!!

I will take any support you all can offer. ALSO SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE!

i am also on a diet , im 5'5'' (i have short beagle legs LOL)
one tip i would like to share is start out slow dont try to do it all at once you will get overwhelmed and give up soon after you start. also u can start out with a few easy to reach goals that will help boost your spirits that helped me to think hey its not hard i can do it and over the last 3 years i have lost 100 pounds but if i dont keep on the right track it starts to come back slowly.
a nother thing that helped me was to right a food journal to write (type) down each time i am thinking about food if i am actualy hungry or bored or was i bored with what i had just ate and i put a goal each time i go to eat and its not for the right reason i go and do something for 10 minutes and it gets my mind off of food and for the most part i forget that i was going to eat ! which means i was not hungry at all.

hey gabby, thanks for the reply. i appreciate your input. i agree. the goal thing works. i am losing but slowly, which i hear is the best way. i don't really crave food. i'm doing fine in that area but i need to work on the exercise. in the past walking did the trick but it's so cold here i haven't been walking every day. my employer has a gym i can use free of charge, i think that the route i'll go. i'd rather be outside walking but that will work until the weather gets better. i will keep you posted.
and wow....you lost 100 lbs. that's great. keep up with it. i know how easy it is to fall off the wagon. all the best to you!
