Default I am a soda addict....help!

Hello. I had been drinking Pepsi since I was five years old, then last summer I was having really bad heart palpitations. My doctor told me its the caffeine and he said I needed to stop drinking Pepsi. It was really hard but I did it. I moved on to caffeine free sodas like Sprite and 7 up, but now my stomach is killing me all the time and I want to quit drinking soda, but it is so hard. Water is so boring and when I am really thirsty...I dont want juice.

PS: I had a glass of Pepsi a few weeks ago and I thought it was disgusting!

Anybody have any suggestions?

to ween myself off of soda, I started drinking Crystal Light. They are sugar free, caffeine free, and I can also carry the little packets in my purse for when I go out to eat. Another caffeine free drink that is good is iced herbal tea. They come in tons of fruit flavors and there's nothing to hurt you.

I have tried Crystal Light before, it's pretty good. I will try it again. Thanks a lot.

I was going to post a link to a site that gives a good run down of caffeine in many, many drinks and foods, but I just remember that linking to off-site content is a no-no. I hope I don't get in to trouble suggesting that you Google "energy fiend".

I'm with you 100%... for about 8 years I drank NOTHING but Mt. Dew, Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb.. no juices, no waters, absolutely nothing else.

Then when I hit a certain age, it seemed to all catch up to me, so I gradually cut myself off. I started drinking Diet, then went for juices, then water with Crystal Light, now simply water. If water is too boring for you, the many flavors of Crystal Light will be perfect for you. The Wild Strawberry and Citrus are amazing. Even better than that, only 5 calories per pack!

Also, something that helped me, was all the cavities the soda gave me... if that isn't enough of a reason to make one stop, I don't know what is

Hi. I don't drink soda but I dig Seltzer water. This is what I tried to get a healthier kick out of it. Mix seltzer water with juice - instant soda. You got the fizz, You got the healthier juice benefit. Like soda except there is no pepsi taste unless you go online and look up the Kola nut and find out how to incorporate that into the mix.

yea i hated water too but
i been trying to get in shape so
i commited to water
its been 3 weeks with nothing but water or milk
and i had some raspberry icetea the other day
and it tasted wayyy to sweet
something i never had thought before
i got used to drinking water that
anything else is gross
so try that. drink nothing but water for a while
and you will get used to it

yea i have not drank soda all together in months
