Everyone can lose weight.

Being big genetically, usually relates to "bones", height...

What do you weight, how tall are you, what's your diet like, do you exercise?

How about giving us a little more information, one step at a time ....

actually studies have shown that obesity tends to run in families because of eating and exercise habits not because of some mysterious "fat" gene. i actually wish there was a fat gene because it would be a great cop out for me!!!LOL!!!

A healthy diet is always achievable and always a good thing, so is healthy exersize. Obviously a healthy, well proprtioned woman who is 5'11' will weigh more than one who is a healthy, well porportioned 5'2".

Coming from an over weight family is no reason for an individual not to be a healthy weight.

I think genetics mean a lot if we talk about weight. The most part of my relatives from my mother's side are big, I think this is why I tend to be big, too. My sister is the same. I look at some of my girlfriends who already have babies, many of them eat everything and they don't exersice at all and they are OK having no cellulite or other problems! I have to be very strict with myself, be on a diet, exercise several times a week to be in a fit. If I stop I am getting big immediately. The lifestyle, eating habbits, exercises are very important! All this stuff works even if you tend to be big. Unfortunately some people have to work much harder than the others to be in a good shape. But it is what it is, we have no choice By the way having no food after 6pm works very well. Plus having less sugars and sweets, if you want some too bad eat them befor 12am. This works very well for me!

i think a lot of it is about portion size. i also have friends who eat whatever they want, but it tends to be say a cupcake rather than an entire cake. they also get a lot of incidental exercise. i personally think the big one is exercise rather than diet, most of the slim and skinny people i know, are hyperactive so to speak. rushing around here and there and sometimes forgetting to eat. that being said others hold their weight down by smoking and sometimes pharmaceutical means - which isnt healthy at all.

Genetics play a roll I am sure, but that just determains if you are one of the lucky individuals that can eat what they want and not put on an inch - or someone that stares at a cookie commericals and gains 3 pounds. Some of us have to work way harder than others to achieve the same fitness goals, its just the straw we draw. But diets and exercise works for EVERYONE that follows them as they are meant to be followed, not every diet works for every person, but reducing intake, moving more - works for most without medical conditions.
