Default Need help with weightloss

Ive recently been trying to lose weight for my holiday which is now 3 months away. I have been eating healthier, cutting out junk food and trying to add more fruit and veg, not eating bread etc. and making sure i eat 3 healthy meals a day, without unhealthy snacking inbetween. I also go to either the gym or swimming almost every day where possible, as well as some body toning and fitness classes when i can.

I have been sticking to this for the last 3 or 4 weeks, but im yet to lose any weight. I know its still quite soon, but really, not even a pound. Im the first to admit i do have my occasional slips, crisps are my weakness, but nothing compared to previously. Despite these slips my diet is still much much healthier than it was, which i thought should at least make some sort of difference?

im 20 years old, i weigh 12 stone, and im a uk size 12-14. I know this isnt exactly huge, but i am definately uncomfortable with my body shape. Im not looking for anything extreme, i dont want to be a size 0, i just want to slim down and tone up so i am comfortable with my body and can happily wear summer clothes on holiday without feeling the need to constantly cover up, as i do now.

Where am i going wrong? anyone have any advice?

Peekaboo,

Try writing down exactly what you are eating and find a website like starkspeople.com to input your calories etc to determine if you are taking in too many calories or too many carbs/sugars. When actually writing it down and finding out how many calories, proteins, carbs you have been consuming it maybe of a surprise to find out it is too much. Also, perhaps what your eating is too much sodium.

Also, instead of eating 3 meals a day, make those meals smaller and add in 2 snacks. This will get your metabolism going.

Start mixing up your workout routine if you have been doing the exact same thing for the 3-4 wks. Drink plenty of water, cut out all sodas even diet.

Good luck and do not give up!

well i think your doing everything correctly and if your still not losing then maybe you should see an endocologist (however you spell it) lol or your regular doctor to check your thyroid. sometimes the problem is hormonal and at least you will have peace of mind knowing it's not that.

Default dont worry!

its okay if youre not losing any weight! when i first went on diet and exercise, i actually gained 3 kilograms. if you feel like you have more energy and that you are toning up, youre doing the right thing. not losing any weight is the plateau stage, i think everyone has experienced a point in their routine when they are not losing any weight even though theyre trying really hard. mine lasted for a very very long time (almost 3 months) (it really depends on person to person, some last only 2 weeks) . i know it can get very annoying, but after you pass that stage you will lose weight quite quickly. dont completely cut out on junk food, because if you do and lose a lot of weight, when you do start eating things like bread you will gain weight faster because your body is not used to the kind of carbs. dont cut it out, just limit the intake. and really! dont worry about the weight on the scale, just measure it by your fitness and how your body shapes up!
