That's a fairly general question...with A LOT of answers. There are many different schools of thought on losing weight, and depending on whom you're talking to and what they have to gain (as you lose), you may get sidetracked by scams.
In my experience and observation..."miracle diets" just don't work. Losing weight is not a matter of days or weeks...most often it's a lifestyle change focused on healthier living. In short...eat nutritional food...eat because you're hungry and not because you're sad (bored, happy, angry, etc.). Exercise often...exercise is pretty much crucial, not just for weight loss but a healthy life in general. I recommend "Fit or Fat" by Covert Bailey for a sane, sensible, and fun guide to fitting exercise into your life. The key is to find a way to lose weight that works for you, something you won't get tired of and that you find rewarding. Happy losing! |

Hi there, so long as you have the the desire to lose weight then you can do it, , if you want to improve your health generally, lose weight and have more energy then getting some nutritional help is vital. Once your body starts to absorb the right nutrients and vitamins and protein then you?ll be amazed how quickly you will feel the difference, usually within the first 48 hours if you get the right supplements and help. I had no energy and felt just generally rotten all round so I sought the advice of a nutritional coach (whose advice was FREE) and got myself some great products, I even got free samples before I got started so I could see just how good they were!! There is a website called myhealthabc.com If go on there and fill out the details page you will get a call with no pressure about what you need. There is a mall area as well that?s got some great info and its all set out with easy to follow headings so you can find what you want. It?s so easy and the stuff they have is excellent. I have been using their products for over two years and I feel great. I lost 70 pounds in less than seven months!! My sister lost 60 pounds in five months. The stuff is amazing. Try them you won?t be disappointed. I even started to use their skin care range last year and my skin is in such good condition now

I'm using Calorie King....at calorieking.com
It's a diary for calorie counting (and/or exercising). I love it! I started a month ago today actually and so far I have lost 12lbs. That's pretty good considering I am 5'4" and started as 154lbs...now at 143lbs (people with higher weights tend to lose faster). Whether or not you use Calorie King specifically...I would figure out your weight loss calorie amount (your needed maintenance calories per day, minus 500 cal per lb. you want to lose) and keep a diary of what you've been eating/exercising. The key is, not lying to the diary lol. |

I had been dieting for a while before the hoildays hit and I was doing great. Well then I fell off and I have been trying to get back on the right track. Right now I am doing a slim fast shake for breakfast, for lunch i either do a soup from progesso or something like that, or a salad, or just some plain old tuna. For dinner I am having one of the lean cuisne meal. I havent been eatting anything after 8. I have also been slipping in a bit of ice cream before 8 and I have cut out soda and I believe I am back on track I have lost 5lbs. Granted alot of this is probally water weight. But I believe its cause I stopped drinking soda. I usually would drink a soda a day. Now I am drinking water with one of those crystal light packets put in it. I hope this can help some. I would like to keet this going so I can lose more weight before hubby gets home on is leave from Iraq. Good luck to everyone.

I recently discovered a new way to lose weight...get into a relationship where the guy has the potential to cheat and fall madly in love, and wait for it to happen. The past 3 days I've lost 5 pounds from not eating and barely sleeping!
But for real, the best way to lose weight is to count your calories and exercise. Some people need more calories than others, and your age, body type and metabolism play a big role. Theres a calorie coutner that can give you an idea how much you should eat each day. It's something like 11X your body weight plus some number times the number of hours youre awake is the number of calories you should eat to gain your target weight. But don't neglect exercise! Even if it's a light walk everyday, doing something helps a lot. Just be patient and set goals for yourself. |

My friend weight loss is traditionally approached as a physical "issue" and tends to be addressed only in that manor focusing on physical means, diet and exercise education, without attention to the individual's emotional and spiritual needs. Diet and exercise are valuable information, of course, but they do not get to the ROOT issue of why a person is overeating. I believe weight loss is an emotional and spiritual issue, and needs to be approached with emotional and spiritual means.
