I am a diet skeptic. I didn't mean any offense to you, and honestly, congratulations on your weight loss What I'm saying is that 23lbs in such a short period of time is something I hope no one else would aim for because of the very issues you mentioned. But relax, whether I believe you lost the weight or not isn't important (I do, for the record). Thanks for sharing your success and motivation

BTW, I dredged up such an old topic by accident, didn't mean to re-surface this for no reason.

Hey, no worries. Your points were all valid and good. I didn't really "aim" for any certain weight either. It just worked out that way until everyone else told me I was losing too much.

And don't worry about the initial post being old. I actually came back to update it since I am starting the diet a second time.

I used to rollerblade about 3 times a week for at least a mile, but became too busy to do it anymore and put on a lot of weight. I decided to diet for the first time ever. First I started by cutting out fast food, stopped cooking with grease and oils, started eating a lot more fish and meats but pretty much cut out pork completely, I cut back on pasta and bread and dairy products, cut back on salt and sugar, and switched to diet drinks. So the goal was to eat healthier home cooked foods with fresh meats and vegetables. I must be honest, the cravings were hard to deal with and I really had to battle my urges to eat junk food. I couldn't believe how much I missed things. I ate smaller meals five times a day instead of two or three big meals. I got all these ideas from various diet plans. I was also taking Centrum Performance vitamins (still am). I started to slowly lose weight, but wasn't seeing much progress. It wasn't until I stopped drinking diet drinks and switched to water and tea that I noticed a change. Once I did that and kept on my new diet, I started to rapidly loose weight! It was like flipping a light switch! I seriously lost 22 lbs in 3 weeks! It was such a noticeable change that everyone kept asking me if I was starving myself. LOL! I went from 150lbs to 128lbs and am 5'5". Well, I had actually started to get too skinny and was afraid of loosing anymore weight so I had to start increasing my intake of things that I had cut back on. I was really craving carbs so I started eating a little more pasta and bread. I have managed to figure out just what I need to maintain my weight. I don't count carbs or anything like that. I just eat healthy foods and drink LOTS of water! I think that water is a serious key to weight loss. I also think that diet drinks are really not helpful at all. In fact, did you know that diet drinks contain an ingredient called Aspartame which is concidered a mood elevator? I don't trust that stuff! Right now I am maintaining weight of about 130 lbs. Ohhhh... and I am 27 years old. I was 25 when I went on that diet.

If anyone has any questions about my diet, feel free to ask me! It really did work! I have pictures! LOL!
I am having a very difficult time right now with my weight. I have had 2 major surgeries in the past 2 months and I quit smoking. I am always tired and I feel like my skin is really tight? Does that make sense? I've been heavy before but I never felt like my skin was tight?

Any how I like what you had to say, I am going to try it your way and see what happens. Wish me luck.

Thanks! This is an inspiration. I just started working out and eating better a week ago and I am doing the same thing. I am drinking only water and green tea. I think that alone will make a difference. I have also stopped eating past 7pm. I hope I have the same success that you have had.

So I went to Barnes and Nobles and bought the book. I am so far in love with it and excited to start my new dieting tomorrow! I was already on a diet kind of like it but now that I have this book it will help me get to my ideal weight! There's a lot of info on what good and bad for you! I like how they use red yellow and green light to show you what is good for you. there is also a BMI table(body mass index) I am in the yellow area which means over weight. I cant wait until I cant wait until I get to the green!!! I was recently 179 and had gotten down to 145 for my wedding but gained again cause I started eating lots of snacks bad ones. Well I am now back up to 157 and don't feel good anymore. I was small all my years in high school was able to eat anything and not gain. I got on the depo and gained weight fast after that I was staying in the 170. Now that I had lost a lot of it for my wedding it makes me want to lose more and feel healthier. Im really glad I saw this post of you losing weight. I am 25 years old 5'1 and weigh 157 and would like to be at 130-125 lbs. Wish me luck on my journey
