I am sure you know it would be best if you could both exercise AND eat right, but I know how hard that can be. I was never one to be concerned about my weight up until 2 years ago. I used to rollerblade about 3 times a week for at least a mile, but became too busy to do it anymore and put on a lot of weight. I decided to diet for the first time ever. First I started by cutting out fast food, stopped cooking with grease and oils, started eating a lot more fish and meats but pretty much cut out pork completely, I cut back on pasta and bread and dairy products, cut back on salt and sugar, and switched to diet drinks. So the goal was to eat healthier home cooked foods with fresh meats and vegetables. I must be honest, the cravings were hard to deal with and I really had to battle my urges to eat junk food. I couldn't believe how much I missed things. I ate smaller meals five times a day instead of two or three big meals. I got all these ideas from various diet plans. I was also taking Centrum Performance vitamins (still am). I started to slowly lose weight, but wasn't seeing much progress. It wasn't until I stopped drinking diet drinks and switched to water and tea that I noticed a change. Once I did that and kept on my new diet, I started to rapidly loose weight! It was like flipping a light switch! I seriously lost 22 lbs in 3 weeks! It was such a noticeable change that everyone kept asking me if I was starving myself. LOL! I went from 150lbs to 128lbs and am 5'5". Well, I had actually started to get too skinny and was afraid of loosing anymore weight so I had to start increasing my intake of things that I had cut back on. I was really craving carbs so I started eating a little more pasta and bread. I have managed to figure out just what I need to maintain my weight. I don't count carbs or anything like that. I just eat healthy foods and drink LOTS of water! I think that water is a serious key to weight loss. I also think that diet drinks are really not helpful at all. In fact, did you know that diet drinks contain an ingredient called Aspartame which is concidered a mood elevator? I don't trust that stuff! Right now I am maintaining weight of about 130 lbs. Ohhhh... and I am 27 years old. I was 25 when I went on that diet.
If anyone has any questions about my diet, feel free to ask me! It really did work! I have pictures! LOL!
