I am sure you know it would be best if you could both exercise AND eat right, but I know how hard that can be. I was never one to be concerned about my weight up until 2 years ago. I used to rollerblade about 3 times a week for at least a mile, but became too busy to do it anymore and put on a lot of weight. I decided to diet for the first time ever. First I started by cutting out fast food, stopped cooking with grease and oils, started eating a lot more fish and meats but pretty much cut out pork completely, I cut back on pasta and bread and dairy products, cut back on salt and sugar, and switched to diet drinks. So the goal was to eat healthier home cooked foods with fresh meats and vegetables. I must be honest, the cravings were hard to deal with and I really had to battle my urges to eat junk food. I couldn't believe how much I missed things. I ate smaller meals five times a day instead of two or three big meals. I got all these ideas from various diet plans. I was also taking Centrum Performance vitamins (still am). I started to slowly lose weight, but wasn't seeing much progress. It wasn't until I stopped drinking diet drinks and switched to water and tea that I noticed a change. Once I did that and kept on my new diet, I started to rapidly loose weight! It was like flipping a light switch! I seriously lost 22 lbs in 3 weeks! It was such a noticeable change that everyone kept asking me if I was starving myself. LOL! I went from 150lbs to 128lbs and am 5'5". Well, I had actually started to get too skinny and was afraid of loosing anymore weight so I had to start increasing my intake of things that I had cut back on. I was really craving carbs so I started eating a little more pasta and bread. I have managed to figure out just what I need to maintain my weight. I don't count carbs or anything like that. I just eat healthy foods and drink LOTS of water! I think that water is a serious key to weight loss. I also think that diet drinks are really not helpful at all. In fact, did you know that diet drinks contain an ingredient called Aspartame which is concidered a mood elevator? I don't trust that stuff! Right now I am maintaining weight of about 130 lbs. Ohhhh... and I am 27 years old. I was 25 when I went on that diet.
If anyone has any questions about my diet, feel free to ask me! It really did work! I have pictures! LOL!
WOW!!!! thats really good and its a good thing that ur keeping it up but along with ur diet u should walk! walking is one of the healthiest things u can do....exercising is hard but walking on a treadmil while ur watching ur favorite soap seriously pays off in the end! and water is the best thing to drink...ive heard that if u drink water first thing in the morning...before anything...it helps u loose weight because u burn fat just by a glass of water in the morning! i must tell u good job tho on keeping up with the diet i know its difficult but its an amazing feeling in the end
I was amazed at how well it all worked out for me! I do know that I have been slacking on the exercise though. Winter time will do that to you. I hope to start rollerblading again when it warms up. I miss that. Sooooo relaxing!
OH... and here is the book that I swear by!! This works! Well, for me anyway.
I just bought some roller blades! I can't wait to try them I haven't rollerbladed since I was little too. I think I'm going to read about that diet, I've been trying to lose 14lbs I'm 137 and I want to be 123/125 I eat right but I'm getting tired of eating the same foods all the time, and I work out every week but I don't see any changes on my body so I know it's my eating habits. I need to research my eating habits.
Yea, that makes two of us that need to change our eating habits, lol. I think ive been eating too much junk lately, (fast food). At least your staying active, I actually would like to do some rollerblading too!! We should both just write down everything we eat for a week, and review it after the week is over. I think that'll be the best way to figure out our eating habits!
The nice thing about that book is that it tells you what's bad, so-so, and good to eat. It tells you why and how much portions of food you should eat. It also give you shopping list suggestions, recipes, exercise tips, and calorie conversions per exercise so you have an idea how it effects you. I think it is actually pretty informative. You would be suprised that a lot of "healthy" foods will still cause you to be overweight because of how fast they transform to glucose. Plus, I like it because you are still eating good amounts of food AND staying healthy. You don't feel like you're starving to death!
