Default not sure what to do...

Well to get things started, I'm 5'3, will be 21 at the end of the year, and have recently reached my highest weight to date. I've always hovered around the 150 mark, and at my lowest was 130 which has become my new goal. Today I was at a friend's house and I weighed myself on her bathroom scale for the first time in Months and I was really upset to see I've now reached 170, and I'm just so ashamed of myself I don't know what to do or where to start. I dont really have anyone to talk to about it, nor have I really wanted to anyways. I guess I'm just on here hoping to talk to some other people who can relate, and hopefully get some tips, and build up my motivation. Any and all feedback is really appreciated. Thanks!

Hey SJM88, welcome..

You certainly will get support, have a look through the weight loss section as well and read up, ..

Your not alone,

I actually put on 5k this Winter which upset me, sure I am more like 1001'bs I think, Australian 10, England 6? but it's all around the tummy, it happens, all that matters is if you don't want it and then work towards getting rid of it... Which is how your thinking, because it matters to you only, not anyone else...

If it's a health issue fine..

If your happy then be happy.

If you however, feel horrid and don't like it, then I think you will find some excellent motivational replies from achievements from here.

Good luck and remember, you can do anything you put your mind to.

I can definitely relate to what you are going through! I am 26 and have always had fluctuations with my weight and about a year ago hit 165...I'm 5'1''! In my opinion the best way to start, if you want to lose weight, is to make small changes. Like, replace soft drinks and sugary drinks with water, take the stairs instead of elevators...all things you've heard before. Once you can turn small changes into habits the weight will come off...slowly but surely. I did this a year ago and I'm down 15 lbs. Not exactly my ideal weight but it is a start.

Feel free to contact me if you ever need some encouragement...I'm a very open person. I'm new to the forum too! I joined to help find some support as I move to the next level of my weight loss journey...exercise!! Hope to hear from you soon!
