Default Is Nutrisystem Food As Bad as It Looks?

Can anyone tell me that???

I got encouraged by how much weight Marie Osmond lost, so I went to the website to maybe order it and to be honest, it looks unappealing, and that it’s reconstituted is a big turn-off, and not exactly cheap even with a free week.

So I read some consumer reviews and they did not make the food sound at all good, in fact people sounded real unhappy.

The other idea is to do a detox and not have to order prepackaged food, I read about a product called NuLean, you replace a few meals and it says you can drop weight fast, has anyone tried that program?

Please share.

I've never tried it but I've seen people at work a few yrs ago with it and really it looks just as bad in person. They said it was ok but very bland and honestly they didn't shed a pound because they ended up still having a huge craving for other foods because of the blandness of the food. I don't think it would be worth the money you pay. Its really expensive

i tried optislim a few years ago, which is basically these bland soups and shakes, i would crave some flavour, besides when you stop using these things the weight just goes straight back on. perhaps seeing a dietician or developing an exercise plan could be more beneficial. since i stopped dieting and started exercising my weight doesnt fluctuate the way it used to, and i didnt become massive which was my major fear. i am still heavier than i would like but happy and healthy.

I decided to choose popular fat-loss programs based on how many of my clients had used or are currently using these methods. I also noticed how much they were advertised currently on television. After observing many different channels on television, I came to the conclusion that the following are being advertised the most: Jenny Craig, Slim Fast and Nutrisystem. What led me to research these “convenient” programs was the realization of how many clients are actually replacing their meals with the ready to eat or drink supplements as well.

The nutritional profiles of all three were quite surprising. All three programs contained a tremendous amount of sugar in their ready to eat products. Out of all three, Jenny Craig provided no information on actual ingredients. However, the nutrition facts were provided on their web site which showed high amounts in the grams of sugar. Slim Fast provided an excellent list of nutrition facts and ingredients. Although this was provided, there was not one product that didn’t contain a high amount of sugar. The only difference in all products was the low-carb and optima products stating lower sugar. Even though it stated lower sugar, upon researching the nutrition facts and ingredients, all of these products were replaced with sugar alcohol and artificial sweeteners. All products contained sugar as one of their top ingredients.

On the nutrisystem program, their ready to eat meals also contained many sugar substitutes as well as a high amount of sodium. Their ready to eat bars contained sugar as one of their first 2 ingredients also.

What is most important when trying to lose weight is to look at the sugar in the products! Once I cut back on the sugar and eating out, the fat weight would come off. Try to get 3 meals a day with at least 2 snacks. With detox programs you will lose weight at first but in the long run it will come back. What happens is you change those two meals to their product which usually cuts back on the carbohydrates. When you do this your body will lose pounds but it will be water weight. Most people lose 7-10 pounds by lowering their carb intake and then the body sheds water. For every 1 gram of carbohydrate you eat, you will store 3 grams of water. Hopefully that makes sense!

I went from 38% body fat 5 years ago to 14% body fat for the last 4 years just by eating right and having "cheat meal" on one day of the week. It has to be a lifelong journey not just a quick way to lose weight!

Best Wishes! Leslie

as much as I want leslie to be wrong I know she is completely right. Its a life long thing. we all want results and we want them now but truth is, our body doesnt work like that. You dont need to spend hundreds on diet meals or pills or anything else. its good old exercise and eating right. I'm starting my self on this journey myself AGAIN but this time I'm doing it the right way

Save your money. Nutrisystem isn't magic diet food. Its just calorie controlled portions to make keeping track of what you eat easier. You can eat better food, spend way less money by just reading labels and keeping a food journal, writing down your food and calories for the day. Setting a goal of calories you want to consume... and planning your day to make sure your meals fit into the goal, snacks included.
